Up: located in a great position, walking distance to the main square Down: staff cannot speak English at all. I don’t understand how you can manage a hotel in a touristic city and not place a single worker with a basic English level. We were not given the towels and the toilet paper in the room. We had to ask. Bathroom are really small, no A/C. Would not recommend, we still payed 40 euros which is not nothing. Would not recommend.

Matinabad Desert Eco-Camp

Matin Abad Eco- Resort & Organic Farm, Iran is one of 18 best practices in sustainable (Eco) tourism initiated by governments, NGOs, and private sectors, in developing countries, including SIDS, with potentials for replication elsewhere. The best practices were collected and analyzed by four main criteria: Conservation, Community, Culture, and Commerce, initiated by The Zeitz Foundation, the main pillars of sustainable (eco) tourism. Matin Abad Eco- Resort & Organic Farm was established in 2008. The group of experts in tourism and naturalists want to provide the tourists with an opportunity for an experience and adventures close to the nature. In the company of seasoned naturalists, tourists will experience treks with camel ride or walk; they can ride bikes through waves of sand and mountain valleys, and can even enjoy desert walks in the beautiful star-lit nights. Located between the sand dunes and vast semiarid grass-covered plain is the camp with modern facilities.

In general, I enjoyed the two-day trip

Amir Kabir

Most friendly staff ever!

We went there just for a night and ended up staying four. This old hotel turned into a backpacker hostel is great value for the money. We had a private double room with AC, fridge, breakfast and wi-fi for just 5€ each. But what made this place so special was the staff. They were always super cheerful and willing to help us with everything we needed. Besides, the bed was very confortable and the linen smelled so nice! I would definitely go back.

Jaam Firouzeh Hotel

During the low season and the protest I had a good deal

Point of strength:definitely the location!! Super central and close to the main square and some of the most beautiful mosques you will see in Iran. Breakfast is nice, the room are clean and comfortable. No windows and a littlw small but these are the only two complains. Definetely not the cheapest option, but soooo close to the main square! Recommended.

Zohreh Hotel

Beautiful hotel, nice rooms, perfect location, friendly staff, great food, awesome prices

A few weeks ago, I had an online interview coming up and was looking for a decent place with a reasonable business suite and fast internet. After considering a number of hotels in Esfahan, I chose Zohre for its convenient location, 24/7 food service, clean and nice rooms, friendly and accommodating staff, as well as their high speed internet, and reasonable prices. During my three day stay, except for a few breaks and excuses, I spent most of my time in the hotel while I was preparing for the interview. The central location of hotel Zohre made it quite convenient for me to quickly get around town, get things done, and return to the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food at the hotel’s restaurants and cafés very delicious. This allowed me to spend more time preparing for my interview. Their beautifully decorated restaurant is almost always open. Even though the room service was a bit slow to arrive, their food was amazing. I especially enjoyed their Lamb Shank dish, Children Kababs, and Eggplant Haleem. Internet speed was fast and stable! I was getting speeds at nearly 15Mbps for both download and upload which is Fantastic for Iran. Unfortunately, theIr internet provider had filtered Zoom, but the hotel staff and IT department were more than accommodating in trying to resolve the issue. In the end, I simply use a VPN to be able to use Zoom and my interview went pretty we. In summary, I had a wonderful experience staying at the Zohre Hotel in Isfahan and I most definitely recommend. I hope to return to Iran and Isfahan again soon and will certainly visit and stay at Zohre hotel.

Has good points but experience very mixed

Another destination from Lonely Planet as Iran Hotels & Hostels have little internet presence. Firstly, the positives. Hostel is upstairs but well positioned for the city & loads of places to eat. The room was a good size and beds were comfortable. It was also reasonably priced. However, the bathroom we got smelled awful. Previous occupants had stuffed the keyhole with tissue paper. Maybe we were just unlucky, but the room itself was not very clean either. Wifi was ok but we had to keep returning to reception for new passwords, which were not always available. Most reception staff seemed as if they would prefer to be elsewhere. They insisted on holding our passports & forgot to return them when we checked out. Luckily we were early enough to get a taxi back from the bus station. The hotel was not much bothered by the omission. I think there must be better options.
