I came in the very low season during Covid for a language training and at first it wasn't easy finding my way around Guilin and it felt like I was the only tourist in the city. The host was super kind, helped me organize and reschedule activities and the continuing trip according to the changing pandemic situation, served great food and the best Cappuccino, and was always available for a nice chat. This made my stay very convenient and enjoyable. On top, I enjoyed the privilege of learning about Guilin's history and culture from locals, who also made the best recommendations on what to visit in Guilin and the region. Without exaggeration, this was the best hospitality I experienced in China so far and I would return at any time!

Our location in the old neighborhoods of Guilin. Connected to local life. Zen tea house Art zen-style rooms and great hospitality services. City center and seven star park are within 10-25 minutes’ walking distance.around the house there’s many local restaurant/street food. Guests at the zen tea house are only 40 minutes journey from Guilin airport, 15 minutes from Guilin central train station. The zen style rooms each feature a modern flat-screen TV,There are also bathrooms, and windows letting in plenty of natural light.

Bei unserer vorherigen Reisestation hatte sich einer von uns den Fuß verletzt. Wir wurden sofort umsorgt und sie halfen uns alles Nötige zu besorgen. Darüber hinaus bei späteren Problemen zur Seite gestanden. Sie haben uns die Gegend gezeigt, mit kulturellen Besonderheiten bekannt gemacht, mehrmals sogar zum Essen eingeladen und den Aufenthalt trotz aller Schwierigkeiten, die wir hatten zum besten der ganzen Reise gemacht. Dabei haben sie uns auch mit traditionellen Gerichten ethnischer Minderheiten in Guilin bekannt gemacht. Auch bei Ausflügen und Mitbringseln haben sie uns hervorragend beraten und bei der Organisation geholfen. Solche tollen Gastgeber hatten wir noch nie! Wir würden das Hostel jedem empfehlen, der eine herzliche Atmosphäre genießen möchte und Interesse an tiefen Einblicken in chinesische Kultur (auch der der Minderheiten) hat. At the end of August 2019 the two of us visited Guilin for a few days and I must say, we were absolutely in love with the city and the hostel! (Sorry that the review is so late, sadly, we never got to write it earlier) At our former destination one of us hurt their foot, but right away when we arrived our hosts tended to it and looked after us very sweetly. Even when further problems occurred, they were by our side. They showed us sites of Guilin we might not have experienced without them, showed us where and what the locals and ethnic minorities eat, moreover, invited us a few times for lunch and dinner. They gave us thoughtful and valuable advice with trips and souvenirs and helped us organising many things! Even though we’ve had a few difficulties, they made it the best travel experience of the whole trip! We’ve never had hosts like this before! We would like to recommend this hostel to everyone who wants to enjoy a lovely atmosphere and is interested to get a deeper look into Chinese culture(s). Thank you so much for everything! We will never forget our time in Guilin!

Reviewed By mirjams641We were one of the few bookings staying at the hotel at the time of the Coronavirus outbreak. We had many things planned, as there is loads to see and do in Guilin. Unfortunately, everything closed down the day after our arrival. There really wasn't much to do in and around Guilin. A very surreal situation. Despite all that, our 4-day stay was very enjoyable all due to the efforts made by the Owner, staff and our wonderful guide Effie. The rooms were exquisite, including wonderful mountain views and underfloor heating. The Villa is nicely located just on the outskirts of the city surrounded by lush green mountains. Each dinner was excellent and freshly prepared by the kitchen staff, who also took personal preferences into account. Our stay ended up being a very memorable and personal experience. We celebrated CNY with the hotel staff and family, we played card games together, practiced calligraphy and were even entertained with a private authentic Chinese tea ceremony performed by the Owner herself. A truly wonderful experience! Never before have we experienced such wholehearted hospitality. We will forever remember our stay and the people at the Beyond Villa in Guilin!

Riverside Inn Guilin Central is located in a beautiful scenic area of Guilin city center. Even though this Inn is located in the lively city, it is hidden away in a quiet area. We are located next to the Taohua River and also close to Nanmen Bridge. We are a typical villa-style Inn. There is a quiet avenue nearby, convenient for taking a walk. The Inn has an excellent location. We are located 2.6 kilometers away from the train station (only a 15 minute walk). We are 500 meters away from the main bus station. We are conveniently situated nearby the main tourist sites in Guilin. We are only a 10 minute walk away from the famous "Elephant Trunk" Hill. Inside the Inn, you can enjoy our awesome bar. A perfect place for chatting with friends or striking up a conversation with someone. If you are in the mood, you can play a game of billiards. You can step outside of the bar's balcony to catch a sweet breeze from the river and watch the riverboats going by.

Reviewed By 822henrikeThis hotel is a little bit hard to find, in the end of an alley by the riverside. Most taxis do not really know where it is, Very nice and clean. Staff speaks very good English and helped us a lot, giving advice and helped us with transportation and with our trip home (we tried to check in online - they had a computer in the reception). Actually we cancelled another hotel to come back here, since we felt at home. We were lucky to get a "mini-suite" on the ground floor with a large outdoor patio - very nice evenings with the boats going by.

Reviewed By Samulliner29From the second we booked the Bonjour Boutique hotel, we knew we were in for a treat; the pre-communication was excellent and were incredibly amiable to our requests. But we were not expecting something so incredible when we arrived. Situated in the quaint island of Lu Jia Village, there are beautiful walks, traditional housing and a number of small hotels to ensure you have access to all you would want. A short 10-15 minute Didi or taxi journey into the centre of the city means that there are plenty of other options for food, activities etc if you feel the need to. The hotel itself is incredible. With only 10 rooms, there is an incredible person vibe to it, but equally it is clear that no expense has been spared. Need a good shower? You got it! Want high-quality amenities? Absolutely!! Require a giant bath that an adult could probably swim in? Its there too!!! I could rave about the quality of the facilities all day, but what really makes the hotel one of the best we have ever stayed is the quality of the service. With Ying and her team, nothing is too much. I literally cannot speak highly enough of them. The management team also arranged trips through Guilin Uncovered; we took two trips with them - both of which were high quality looking at the real Guilin, not just the tourist hotspots. In short, you would be crazy not to choose Bonjour Boutique Hotel for your next stay!

Staff were very friendly, especially one young man who helped us out every evening while we played pool in the lobby area. Rooms large and comfortable. Bathroom was new; seemed newly renovated. Hallways were tired looking and a little dirty but everything else was fine. Complimentary gifts on arrival and departure. Was under the impression they offered scooter or bicycle hire but there were none. If we came again and the price was right, would stay here again.
