Outstanding Hospitality

Reviewed By meghildi

My partner, dog and I stayed at Colwall Park for 4 nights over the Jubilee weekend and had an amazing time. The hotel itself is sweet and full of history and the surrounding hills make for brilliant hikes. Food and drink was great too (the afternoon tea is a MUST). The most outstanding part of our stay was the incredible staff. They went above and beyond in every aspect and we’d return in a heartbeat as a result of their friendly, professional service.

A dance holiday

Reviewed By Barry U

This was a three day dance holiday organised by our dance teachers and our third visit my wife and I have made to this hotel - the first since lock-down. The Abbey Hotel is a beautiful old building, our room was comfortable, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff are polite, friendly and very helpful. Malvern is situated on a steep hill, and there are many stair cases to climb in the hotel, there is a lift which can be used. From past experience we have learned that there is access available from the ground floor - have a word with a member of staff. All in all, this is a lovely hotel and we would stay there again!

Great Malvern Hotel

The Great Malvern Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Great Malvern. We are a friendly, family run business offering comfortable accommodation, great food, and good, old fashioned hospitality and service. Built in 1842 the hotel has been updated whilst still retaining many of it's historical features. The Sutton Family bought The Great Malvern Hotel in 1999, with the intention of running a small town centre hotel which had been an ambition of Jeremy. Rani, his wife, his children and parents have a day to day influence in the hotel and are supported by long standing members of staff. Good accommodation, good food and fine CAMRA cask ales.

Very Enjoyable Stay After a Walk in The Malvern Hills

Quite a quirky place, staff were very welcoming and helpful. Great location for exploring Great Malvern or walking in the hills. Evening meal was excellent and reasonably priced with good choice on the menus including gluten free options with the choice of a table in the bar or the nook. Breakfast was amazing, Select what you want from a list on the menu with traditional English breakfast and a range of other items, to create your own breakfast which is then served for you. The bar had a nice friendly atmosphere. The priory and bars etc are just a few minutes walk away. Good shower. Sorry to say. We love going to weatherspoons but this one in Malvern needs a good look at its staff. The waitress we saw on a Monday morning 10am was sat at bar drinking larger not a good sign. Staff don’t seem to care about hygiene or self appearance, breakfast was cold and could have been cooked by a monkey. Iam sorry Tim martyn but retrain your staff. Not got very poor.

A quick overnight stay

Reviewed By Michael C

Stayed in the room overnight whilst we visited family in the Malvern Hills. Stayed in a double room which had a great view and the amenities expected of a hotel of this nautre. Openable windows is always welcome compared to a digital temperature system. The room view and parking facilities at the hotel are good and the location is very good. However the only drawback was the breakfast which although we enjoyed and was tasty the portions were very small. Although it was table service and we were able to pick from a menu when asked for hash browns we only received one which I thought was borderline offensive although I chose not to raise this at the time. The portion of beans was also akin to a small childs portion than one fitting for someone over 6 feet tall. The quality was good though and the bacon well cooked as reuqested. Breakfast is better in budget hotel chains which offer buffet service and a greater range of options/flexibility. Otherwise however would recommend the hotel.
