My wife & I are long time [over 10 years] members of a 12 person monthly dinner club - that on the last Thursday of 11 months of the year [excluding December] have a dinner out in the North Eastern suburbs of Johannesburg. March 28 was Hussars Grill, Waterfall Corner. First arrivals came at 18:30. Everyone there by 19:00.The bar had run out of Windhoek Draught beer - so after much persuasion they went to a bottle store in the center & procured some! It was 19:40 before starters orders orders were taken. Starters arrived around 20:10 and then main course orders were taken. Mains arrived around 20:30. Mine was good. BUT everyone else had bitter complaints: underdone, too fatty, 2 had fillet steak that had gristle in it! Steak ordered with English mustard only had it delivered 15 minutes after the dish had been served. No waitrons came in the interval and with the noisy environment, plus being in the furthest corner - we were out of sight. Management was called and our "leader" explained the inordinate delay and poor service. He was given a chocolate cream vodka drink & 2 complimentary bottles of wine were placed on the table. Finally some had desserts. The general consensus was it was the lowest rating dining experience our supper club had ever partaken in. Inordinately slow and then not attentive service: food quality in general was not relating to the top line prices charged. It was a sad let-down. Every Nandos branch has its own signature stamped. I feel that the Kyalami branch of Nandos is outstanding with excellent service, prompt assistance, polite staff and good value. Certainly one of the better Nandos outlets around.

Had their special "kickstarter" breakfast (R49.90) at the SPUR at the Mall of Africa. Egg, cheese hash brown onion rings and mushroom. Good value for money. Good service. Being that the restaurants speciality is steak and seeing that they pride themselves on preparing to order even showing visually what to expect when ordering rare, medium rare, medium, medium well and well done steaks. We ordered "medium" and were served a T Bone which was a combination of well and medium well, it was then sent back and we were then presented with a rare / medium rare steak which we again brought the managers attention to. Finally we were provided with a medium rare to medium steak both parties having been worn down after this. Wine was good, crème brule was good - sadly a poor performance by the griller and the manager needs to be better equipped when dealing with situations such as this.

Not the cheapest date but (and this is why I don't mind) regardless of branch always a fantastic experience. A plentiful menu for meat eaters and vegans alike, all ooze exceptional quality with good service too. One of the better restaurants in the shopping centre.

This is one of the nicer locations of this franchise. The outside seating area has a great view of the new office tower as well as the water fountains (good spot to sit and people watch) The service I received was fast and friendly. I opted for the bacon & cheese burger that was great. My only comment is that both the manager and my waitress checked on my table after I was completely finished eating (a bit late if there had been a problem) I am a firm believer that there is only one way to eat a burger and that is with your hands therefore I think they should look at using a larger bun as there is so much filling a lot of it ends up falling out. Plenty of covered secure parking very close by and lots to see and do in the mall.We love getting messy just as much as you do Howard. We will take your feedback into consideration. ;)

Went here for a meal with my wife and it was such a great experience. It was a Sunday afternoon and we we decided to return to this restaurant after have a good meal here a few months ago. Our waitress was top notch. She was attentive but not obtrusive. Our starters and meals were perfect. We had the calamari starter which is one of the best I have had. The buffalo mozzarella pizza is also really good (but we did wonder if it was real buffalo mozzarella)The Florentine steak is also a winner and I would recommend it to any meat lover. Hey have a very decent wine list as well. And the desserts are delicious. Would recommend Will definitely returnHi Vanman,Grazie for the fantastico review of our family restaurant.
