What we enjoy about this Spur is the atmosphere, friendly service and good food and were not disappointed. We were met at the door promptly and taken to our table. We were worried that the food would take long to prepare because the restaurant was quite busy but the meals arrived timeously. This is part of a chain of restaurants which offers consistent value and varied menu options at all their branches. On a Saturday at lunch time the restaurant was packed. I was welcomed at the door, and I ordered a coffee and toasted sandwich. I browsed through the selection of current magazines and newspapers. The toasted sandwich was tasty, but the filling was a bit sparse. The side salad was served attractively, but some of the lettuce leaves looked stale. My macchiato coffee was perfect executed, but only when asked, it was served with two small biscuits. The service was friendly and professional. The crockery and cutlery were clean, but the charcoal side plate was chipped. No manager was visible. Ideal for good coffee and a sandwich.

What a bustling wonderfully civet little pub in the heart of SW5! Iâm not much of a pub goer but my sisters and I decided to visit Horse and River for some birthday fun! The food was just incredible! The live music- so good!! We made friends, we danced, we had a great time!
