"Sound of Iona"

Reviewed By Susan S

That is the English translation of 'Caol Ithe.' We somehow managed to land in Fionnphort when the weather turned bright and sunny, the Rhododendrons and wild yellow iris were blooming and the Puffins were nesting. Our hosts Julie and Patrick got us onto a tour last minute (Staffa Trips- a must) and fed us delicious breakfasts. The location is ideal, just two blocks walk to a pub and the ferry to Iona. You need to book early, Caol Ithe is clean, comfortable, convenient, popular, and a great value.

The good reviews we read were very accurate, so here's another! Janice is a very efficient, attentive and sociable hostess, and Chris produces excellent food. The room was lovely too and the views from the dining room are lovely, across to Iona. We particularly appreciated Chris doing dinner and also the supper platter, both we wonderful.

Fantastic

Had a wonderful couple of nights here at the beginning of the month. Communication was brilliant, as were the helpful directions and recommendations. Linda (and Tim) was a superb host and cooked the loveliest breakfasts! The house is in such a peaceful location set back from the road but only a mile outside Fionnphort. It was just so quiet - we both had such a good night's sleep. Spent a day going over to Iona which was beautiful too. Would definitely recommend to anyone wishing to stay here. Cannot praise it enough.Rob & Julie
