Visited this Taverna for the first time with my Wife for a weekday birthday celebration lunch and glad we did. While located inside a pub, the Taverna has its own entrance and has created a rustic Italian theme. As stated per previous reviews the staff provide a warm and friendly welcome and the Chef (Smiffy) takes a keen interest in his diners and was very solicitous, to ensure that everything was ok with our meal. While the menu was not extensive, there was a good selection of dishes available and all fo the food was freshly cooked with generous portions and was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning

Dropped in for a late night dinner. Overall the place is fine, nothing more. I've had better Beefeaters else where. Why? Slightly run down, toilet door paint worn. Not clean. My table had remnants of the previous occupants meal scattered about and worse the table edge was covered in something sticky and red which I only found out after my shirt was seeked it out! Staff were nice but overall an bit - hmmn.Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate all feedback so it gives us a chance to put things right. We will investigate all your issues raised. Website stated 'smart casual dress'....obviously didn't apply to the rather loud individual mobile phone addict sitting at the next table wearing beach shorts & a vest covered in paint! Food was nice enough, just not enough of it...especially when you're presented with a bill of almost £90 for two people who only had two drinks with their meal. This is basically a Harvester type experience, just a smaller menu & a larger bill. What amazed me was being told that they had 'run out' of rump steak & vanilla ice cream.Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. I can only apologize that your experience didn't lice up to our usual standard. We take all our feedback seriously and I'll look into the dress code issue from that day as your right our dress code is smart casual.We hope to see you again in the future and regain your confidence.Kind regards,The management team

Food was fantastic. Best meal out Iâve eaten in years. Food was brought quickly by our waitress Melissa who was very welcoming and great entertainment. She suggested some amazing dishes and drinks. Will definitely be coming back for more entertainment from Melissa
