Loughborough (/ˈlʌfb(ə)rə/ ( listen) LUF-b(ə-)rə) is a town in the Charnwood borough of Leicestershire, England, seat of Charnwood Borough Council, and home to Loughborough University. The town had a population of 57,600 in 2004, making it the second largest settlement in Leicestershire. It is close to the Nottinghamshire border and within short distances of Nottingham, East Midlands Airport and Derby. The town has the world's largest bell foundry – John Taylor Bellfounders, which made the bells for the Carillon war memorial, a landmark in the Queens Park in the town, Great Paul for St Paul's Cathedral, and York Minster.

Food very good indeed and great value. This is more busy café than restaurant vibrant and noisy was very busy on the night and service a bit slow. Owners children playing and running in and out all the time a bit irritating as our table by the door.Not a place for quiet romance but good food on the go its fine!

Not sure what is going on but the Thai Grand is really losing its sparkle. Went for lunch and staff all seemed a little uninterested and average greeting at best. For some reason they are not selling alcohol (maybe licence revoked) so on arrival we then had to go back over to tesco to get some beers etc. One was in a red can and they then came over very quickly to say that it would cost us £5 to drink our own soft drinks (which it wasn't). Not exactly a friendly start to our meal. Food itself was OK but knowwhere near as nice as it used to be. At the end when I went to pay they announced that they would only take cash (which I didn't have) even though there was a card machine on the side. When I challenged them they said it wasn't working. Have to say I won't be rushing back !

Had starters and mains with my other half. Portion sizes are plentiful. Iâve visited several times and can never fault the food here. Plenty of choice and cater for all dietary requirements. Love the prawn toast! Will definitely be returning.Tip; book a table for weekends as it is usually booked upMy only criticism is that the bathrooms could do with a thorough dust and clean. The sinks were filthy.

4 people for dinner last night, nice restaurant inside and friendly welcome, quick drinks order, food order taken promptly, unfortunately it all seemed to go downhill from here!Dishes arrived, not ours, quickly taken away, for another table apparently, then a sea bass arrived and a sizzling plate, which turned out to be duck, and we had ordered lamb, then a delay, then a chicken curry, then a further 10 mins and my lamb massamam arrived. Then a lamb steak arrived about 5 mins later, utter chaos, and note there were only 4 tables occupied on a Sat night in Quorn!My main issue is the meat quality, and the fact the lady who took the order wouldn't be swayed that the lamb I had was beef, and grey, chewy & dreadful, that the lamb steak was actually beef and that an error in the orders had mixed up dishes with another table!Food quality too poor to repeat which is probably why empty on a Sat night when Quorn itself was heaving!
