We called for lunch on a day trip to Thirsk. We sat upstairs in a spacious dining area, which was clean.My husband and I ordered the Fish, Chips and mushy peas, our daughter the Scampi, Chips and mushy peas. All meals were served with slices of bread and butter.Our meals were served quickly and were well cooked and presented. They were very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

A lovely happy multiple award winning Fish & Chip shop serving the finest Icelandic haddock and cod along with the best British potatoes. Gluten free night also on the 1st and 3rd Saturday evening of each month!

Excellent cod, chips and mushy peas. Great service, with a smile, towards the end of Saturday evening service. Great touch to offer free home made tartare sauce in small tubs next to the salt and vinegar. My first ever visit but won't be my last now I know where you are.Hello Thanks for finding us, we are tucked away in Sowerby! Yes, we even smile for our customers even on Saturday evenings. The homemade Tartare sauce that I make have been a big hit along with our wedge of lemon we offer to everyone. See you again soon

The time I spent in the company of Graham & Ruth whilst waiting for my freshly cooked fish was incredibly enjoyable and entertaining, including Grahamâs juggling act!ââï¸. As other reviewers have said the portions are massive. For our taste, unfortunately the fish was a little dry tonight, perhaps slightly overcooked which was a disappointment. On the plus side the opening hours are very good for the local area and local deliveries excellent of value. Plus the mushy peas spot on! We will give it another try at some point

Called here just before 8 on a Tuesday night just before it was closing and was the only chippie in Thirdly open. Cooked four fish fresh for us and was excellent. People running the place were very friendly and went out of the way to make us welcome.
