This is a very nice cafe in the old Mechanics Institute, alongside the Lancaster Tourist office. The building has been tastefully preserved with excellent disabled access. The cafe serves a wide range of drinks and snacks at reasonable prices, although my cappuccino coffee and my wife's latte could both have been a little hotter.

Stopped here to break journey from Edinburgh to the Peak District. Great decision. much better than any motorway service area - even Tebay!Their website explains problems with flooding from the River Lune next door. Great refurb, really comfortable. the food is really good, great choice soup, sandwiches and light lunches.Definitely will be back.Thank you so much. Glad it was worth the small detour off the motorway. See you again x

Needed a sugar fix and this was just what was needed. Also had a slice of chocolate fudge cake for good measure. Prices were reasonable and the service fast and friendly even though it was near closing time. Definitely visit again even if not needing the sugar fix

Spacious clean well decorated immaculate cafe staff attentive however coffee lukewarm from a vending machine no parking as car park dug up at moment was told by reception team cannot use cafe unless we are relatives of patients as itâs not open to public menu small it was lacking in something but has the makings of somewhere really niceHello and thanks for taking the time to feedback. We are checking the coffee making machine âit grinds beans to make fresh coffee so we are sorry it tasted like vending machine coffee on this occasion. The car park is indeed closed at the moment as we extend it to meet increasing demand â please bear with us. The Courtyard Café is currently closed to the general public for a four week period and remains open to relatives who are visiting patients, there is signage so if it isnât clear we will look at it again. We will re-open fully in three weeksâ time with our usual full and delicious menu so please do come and see us again â our âFish and Chip Fridayâ is legendary and so are our cakes! A big thank you for your kind comments about the café being spacious, clean and well decorated, as well as your feedback about our staff and volunteers being attentive. We hope to see you soon!

Having heard reports of authenticity I ignored the usual Happy Hour haunts and gave this a try .... No bread at the table .... Starter of olives was just that ... A bowl of olives ... The mains, which incidentally leap up in price in an evening , were served in small soup dishes... A lack lustre thin sauce over gnocchi.... Mmmmm .... We remained the only customers for the duration of the meal .... It might be a nice lunch venue as reviews imply but this restaurant needs to beef up its act if it wants to lure customers feasting on pretty decent Happy Hour menus on every corner ....Dear Venicemad,We are very sorry to hear about it.But just to be clear Buccelli's is an Osteria and NOT a Restaurant (which I very well described from outside to inside.Definition of Osteria:An osteria (Italian pronunciation: [osteËria], plural osterie) in Italy was originally a place serving wine and simple food. Lately, the emphasis has shifted to the food, but menus tend to be short, with the emphasis on local specialities such as pasta dishes.I suggest next time to speak to the staff if you have any doubts... Really good place with excellent staff. They are all so willing to please.I usually end up having the soup and a sandwich. The soups are homemade. today was leek and potato delicious.it has become my go to place for lunch in Lancaster as if I am with anyone I can usually guarantee that they will like it.Lovely pies and pasty's.

We had lunch at Grafters Cafe Heysham today. It looks like a transport cafe at first glance but donât be put off. Inside dining room is very nice and thereâs outdoor seating where we sat. Staff are very nice and the food we had was excellent. I had the small breakfast but wish Iâd ordered the big breakfast it was so nice. My wife had a jacket potato with tuna. Also very nice. Served with mugs of tea that were also very good. Wouldnât hesitate to return or recommend Thank you for such a lovely review. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon.

This cafe used to be fabulous before it changed hands. Excellent food made with care and consideration, good service despite the youthful waiting staff.This is I think the third occasion to eat lunch or breakfast here since it changed hands, the first issues we thought were perhaps teething trouble, but evidently from today's experience this is now the norm.Food order wasn't correct, was told "would you like us to remake it or are you ok with that?". No apology whatsoever. Their next effort was still served on the wrong bread.My coffee was extraordinarily weak, how can you get a coffee so badly wrong with Atkinsons Coffee literally a stone's throw away??The table next to us were served drinks they didn't order.All the waiting staff are terribly poorly trained but it's the owners who need to take full responsibility of turning a great cafe we visited regularly, into one we will never return to.A terrible experience.

Visited during a busy lunch service and was pleasantly surprised. Although it took a while for our order to be taken, the lady who served us was very apologetic about the wait. Food and drinks arrived quickly. Proper tea which was nice. And the toasties are delicious! I had the salami and mozzarella (asked for the pesto sauce too which was added and very good!).
