My Brothers Golden Wedding Anniversary was on the 21st September 2019, the venue was booked at The Carpenters Arms, a private room was arranged for this do, tables were laid out very well, we were offered drinks when we arrived then took our places for the meal.Services was very good, food great with plenty to eat, staff looked after us very well had a great evening.

Iâve wanted to eat here since the renovation, it is now such a lovely place and we have had drinks in the garden during the summer. My husband and I went there to celebrate some good news, the staff were very friendly, starters were nice but the main, slow cooked lamb shanks were tough and very tasteless, we were told that they had been slow cooked for 6 hours in the oven, I did wonder if the oven had been turned on. Been here before so a little surprised at meals and service. Decor great and clean. Good parking. Outside area for eating. Dogs welcome. Good meal choice. Some staff friendly and others struggled to smile. Order taken quickly but over 30 minutes for food to arrive. One meal (Sunday roast) was dried up. Other meals fine. It was as if our order had been forgotten as other served around us. Did apologise for wait and had a pudding price taken off bill. Puddings nothing special. Toilets clean. Such a shame as lovely place for a pit stop even just for drinks.Dear SpfJ,Thank you for your feedback after your visit to us on Sunday. Could not fault the globe!! Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic staff, will certainly be returning regularly. Dan was our waiter for the afternoon, made us feel welcome very friendly and even payed attention to our little one! James was very helpful and filled in for dan when he was busy! Amazing team!!

Went for a family meal to celebrate the end of our holiday and unfortunately chose this establishment. Aside from the terrible service (many unfriendly teenage waitresses ignoring the customers and chatting with one another), the main issue was that they âmistakenlyâ put a £47.50 bottle of champagne on the bill. Quite clearly this was not a mistake and the landlady didnât apologise, she just skulked off to the back of the pub. We wouldnât necessarily have checked the bill but had noticed the family before us arguing over an issue with their bill, so clearly this was happening a lot. They refunded us but offered no apology or explanation. So advice to you is to avoid this place or at the very least check your bill thoroughly. Good morning ,I am very sorry to hear that you had this problem last night with your bill. Unfortunately when you came to pay the bill I was in the kitchen helping with things .when the waitress brought this to my attention I obviously said to take this off the bill but you had already left the building and of course they had done this .I will be talking to my staff and making sure that they do not ignore customers when I am not around to make sure this does not happen again. Once again I sincerely apologise for this and I am sorry to hear that it ruined your evening.

We visited while staying in the New Forest for the weekend and weâre not disappointed. This is certainly not just âpub grubâ. The service and the food were absolutely outstanding. Highly recommend the âDippy Egg Soldiersâ and the mussels- absolutely delicious and amazingly presented. The pub was extremely friendly and lively and incredibly welcoming of dogs. We will be back!

I am so disappointed to have had to write this review but have been here many times for evening dinner and Sunday lunches and has always been so good that I have recommended this place , but unfortunately tonight was awful.From start to finish the service and food Was appalling .Drinks order not correct , ordering another round of drinks took half an hour , the food was disgusting my friend had salmon which was lukewarm and had what could only be described as a dried out piece of shoe leather , but we were told it was a rosti.Soup was served no spoon was with it had to track one down ourselves , I had chicken curry which looked as bad as it tasted and I just had to leave it all .The flatbread with it looked as if it had been left out for a day or two was totally stale .Not once were we asked if everything was ok and clearly the waitress must have known as we said we have been waiting half an hour for our drinks .Also when the waitress took my food away it was untouched but nothing to ask if anything was wrong .The attitude of the waitress was couldnât care less . I actually did say to one of the waitresses whatâs gone wrong here as always been good here but I explained itâs been awful from the service to the food and she said she would let the manager know .No manager ever came over too see us except when we paid the bill and she said Iâve taken a round of drinks off for the drink mix up and havenât charged you for the curry that you didnât eat .I think that was very poor considering the whole evening was a total wipe out .The manager who is usually there when I have been is a man called Darren but he was not in tonight unfortunately as he has always ensured good service and good food .its a shame as I will not be going back again or the other three people that also came said never again .

Where on earth can a pensioner get a 3 course meal for £7? The Wheatsheaf in of course and we had a real blowout for that price and good quality food toThank you for your review really happy that you had a good meal and felt it was well worth the money and look forward to hopefully seeing you again in the future

I visited here today with my elderly mother, I booked requesting a table with wheechair access and if possible good light for my partically blind mother. Both were provided along with friendly service and very good food. I require a gluten free diet and I am pleased to report there was a good choice clearly marked. My mother suffers with dementia but the staff were patient and polite. The only small point I would make is that the care park is gravel and although the disabled bay were close by it was still very differcult to push the wheelchair on that surface

Was on holiday in the area and decided to book the Amberwood for Sunday evening dinner and certainly wasnât disappointed. Very friendly and efficient staff took our drinks order very quickly and despite it being fairly busy didnât wait ages for the food either. Would highly recommend the roast turkey. Great place and will definitely come back when visiting the area.
