Great value apartment
Reviewed By dplee22On arrival the owners were very kind and welcoming, giving us some useful advice on walks around the local area. The apartment itself was on the small side for a 4 night stay, but for the great value that is not a complaint. The breakfast was an added bonus, as was the location close to all local amenities. Lovely, modern small hotel
Reviewed By PaulAK2011On a 15 day tour set up by Sayhueque, we stayed 2 nights & 3 days. The hotel is within a few blocks of most of the small town. The price is modest. It is very clean, modern, and with a very friendly, helpful staff. I would highly recommend it and stay again. We stayed in the main building.

Comfortable, clean, and welcoming!
Reviewed By morganb640My husband and I stayed here on either end of a backpacking trip. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. It was a perfect place to relax after hiking every day! They were extremely helpful and accommodating with a last minute change of plans due to weather. Breakfast was included and is delicious! Be sure to stop by the attached bar, Tundra, for the best empanadas, good beer, and great conversation. I would highly recommend this hosteria!

Fantastic stay
Reviewed By MarkysullVery good accommodation in a great location. A few minutes walk from the Main Street but away from busy bars and restaurants playing music. The heating can be easily controlled if it get too hot. Martina is very helpful and has excellent English.

A Great Find in El Chalten

After spending the last few weeks in hostels, having 5 nights at Hotel Lago del Desierto was great. The room and en suite we’re clean, and the bed was a perfect size. We also enjoyed having breakfast in the hotel every morning. The hotel is in a great proximity to the bus station, hikes and the rest of the town. Would highly recommend a stay here for more comfort than your average hostel.

A paradise with the best views of Fitz Roy
Reviewed By estrangerEstancia Bonanza is by far, hands down, the best place I've stayed in 20 years of traveling to Argentina. When you walk across the suspension bridge to the property from the main road, it almost feels like crossing into another world. You are in wild, untamed Patagonia, but surrounded by the comfort and warmth that this team has built in this property. There are many remarkable things about this place, but the most notable thing is the straight-on, full frontal views of Fitz Roy at all hours from every part of the property. People hike miles to see these views, you can watch it from the comfort of a dining room, living room, or your guest room. The dining rooms, living rooms, and guest rooms were built in typical Patagonian style, heated by wood fires (that they make it easy for you to tend to yourself) and decorated in local hues and materials. The food is superb, varied, and full of local flair. The activities are really up to you: they have a wide range of things to do, from biking, to ATVs, to hiking, to horseback riding. Your wish is really their command. This is a place I would come back to time and time again without any hesitation, and I'm thankful to the team (including Pilar, Joaco, Lilita, and the others) for making everything so special. Best Patagonian Experience

Getting there is an experience on its own, the road from El Chalten to Estancia Huemules is beautiful, bordering a river, views to Fitz Roy mountain and the hiking from there to Puesto Calgiero is soooo worth it. Not hard, we crossed woods, rivers, etc a great adventure, away from the crowds and off the beaten path. Once getting there being received by Álvaro with homemade alfajores and a hot cup of tea was most rewarding. The views from el Puesto, the rocky beach next to Laguna Diablo and watching Cagliero Glacier great experience. The food was comforting, delicious and abundant. The beds so comfortables and warm. The rooms very clean. Álvaro arranged for us a full day hike to the glacier, really worth it. Highly recommend it!!!! We traveled with family and friends, from 8 to 50 years old.Thank You Álvaro for a great holiday!!!!

Pretty standard place to stay
Reviewed By netia1128This was a pretty standard place to stay. The place was reasonably clean and well located. Beds were comfy enough and showers worked fine. The place could use a little maintenance - a lot of the tiles are cracking and the WiFi is kind of worthless. The breakfast is decent for the area, but I wish we had been able to use the kitchen to make lunches or dinner. I paid exorbitant amounts of money in El Chalten to eat since we could prepare nothing at the guest house. Staff was generally helpful.
