Cycads on Sea Guest House

When intrepid Portuguese explorer Manual de Perestrelo weighed anchor in this beautiful sheltered bay in 1575, he named it "Bahia de Soa Francisca" after the Monastery of St Francisca, in his hometown of Santareme, hence the name St Francis Bay. Today you will find a tranquil "Village" with an abundance of thatch-roof homes, on the sea, with a lot to offer. Rest, peace, Golf (4 courses within a 60km radius including the well-known "Links" course), walk ways, sea and canal boat trips, superb fishing, super restaurants as well as the Port St Francis harbour. For those who enjoy surfing: "Bruce's Beauties" is world renowned and within easy walking distance from Cycads. During the December holiday season the snorkeling is amazing offered. All amenities are close by. So, come and Feel the Breeze!!

Very Good 1-night stop-over

Reviewed By westonc

My wife and I and our two daughters spent 1-night as a stop-over at Villa de Mer Guesthouse. We booked a deluxe king room and a luxury twin room which were clean, spacious and comfortable. The rooms have nice modern en-suite bathrooms with showers, and the refrigerator and coffee making facilities in the rooms were very convenient. The property is in a pleasant quiet area, close to a lovely beach, and we had a locked parking garage. Magda the manageress was very friendly and helpful, including recommending Guido’s for dinner, which is a short walk away on the banks of the Kowie river, which was an excellent choice. The breakfast was tasty with a sufficient selection to choose from. Overall, we had a very good stop-over at Villa de Mer.
