Come here on a regular basis as this restaurant is close to my parents' place. In winter please try the game dishes, in other seasons the fish dishes (especially the lobster scallop main) are well worth trying. Restaurant isn't cheap but not over the top pricey either. Generally you would need a reservation. Service is always pleasant and personable (if you have a weird request, within reason you are usually accomodated.)

The restaurant was packed on Saturday evening in August. The food is very good, and reasonably priced, we had 4 courses and wine for EUR 50,= per person. I have to applaud the waiters/waitresses; not all in our group were too polite ( I am somewhat ashamed to admit) and they dealt with it graciously. The fact that they do not write down the order and still remember exactly what you had, feels like genuine interest in the guest. Very welcoming. I would recommend it to anyone who likes high quality food, and who can appreciate real hospitality.

You can have a good time in brasserie-styled restaurant "Het Zesde Zintuig" ("The sixth Sense") in the old centre of Hanze-city Doesburg. Excellent service by Hannie and her staff, and good meals on a wooden table. We enjoyed the food very well. From the house wines we preferred the white Rueda Verdejo more than the red Rueda Temprenillo, the last being rather "flat". But we liked the Sauvignon Blanc and Carmenère house wines more than the Rueda's. But nevertheless, yes, we can recommend "Het Zesde Zintuig".

We decided to try this restaurant for a celebration and are so glad we did.
The staff were outstanding, friendly, attentive, courteous and the sommelier was extremely knowledgeable making perfect drink suggestions to complement our food.
The atmosphere was super, being cosy and intimate.
The food was excellent , starting with complimentary appetisers, followed by mustard soup with a pork based mains. The total cost was boosted by the drink selection but it was worth it, especially as we were celebrating. Cost was €150 for 4 people. If we had chosen cheaper wine and not had the white port with the soup, then it would have been a lot less.
All in all a great place and would definitely return next time we are in Doesburg.

Doesburg has an old, fascinating inner city with quaint charm, beautiful gavels and cobblestone streets. Less known is that it has a 'shoreline' along the IJssel River where one can amble and enjoy Sunshine and nature. Amid the atractive apartments overlooking the river there is the Stadshotel with its Terrace on both sides of the boardwalk. It is fresh, new, modern and of high quality and makes for a pleasant sit with protection from the wind and the sun if needed. We had coffee and hot chocolate and a piece of famous Dutch apple pie. It would have been idyllic if the waiting on our table had not been slow and confused and the price had been a little more friendly.
We did not enter the restaurant, but enjoyed the Terrace for a cup of mid-morning coffee.

Had business dinner here and again we were not disappointed. Don't expect cheap prices, but you get what you are paying for, good quality food, well presented, excellent taste and good service.
sit at the fire place for appetizers prior to getting seated for dinner.
Meat quality was excellent and since I ordered 3 way dinner the costs were reasonable.
Wine selection was good, don't hesitate to ask for specials.
Cant go wrong bringing your guests here....

This has become a family favourite over the years. The owner was a vegetarian, we heard. So there have always been two to three veg specialities on the menu. We ordered the sautéed mushrooms as a shared starter, which didn't disappoint.
What was surprising was the mains - broccoli stampot (a Dutch potato mash) with grilled goat cheese. And even more creative was the cannelloni filled with garden beans, peas and green asparagus. The rest of the family had their specialty - mustard soup. We didn't as it has a meat Bouillon and bacon bits. It was my mother in law's 80th birthday. So they brought a little firework to the table and sang "lang zal ze leven" (Dutch happy birthday son). Sweet gesture.
Make sure you don't have the Gelderland grown rose prosecco. Very disappointing.
But for the rest the house Merlot was decent and the coffee too.

It is a small place offering delicious food with friendly service. It is worth stopping by and having something to eat! The restaurant is connected to a bakery that sells delicious breads, pastries and sweets. Good at any time of the day to grab a bite or drink a good tea... The fresh mint tea was fantastic with a tosty with ham and cheese in a brown freshly made bread. Don't miss out!

We went to De Luchte last year with the kids and grandma. The choice is ok and the food was reasonable. However, the service was really awefull. They actually threw plates on the table, were not interested at all and the manager (we think...) had a row with the staff. Two accidents took place with broken China. There are really better options in the region.

De Waag is the oldest pub in the Netherlands (since 1478). They serve around 8 different draught beers and around 20 beers by the bottle. The food is very good. I had clams; my wife ate the calf tenderloin. Reasonbly priced. Owner and staff set the standard in terms of hospitality.
