Usgar Machupicchu Inn

Great location and value for Machu Picchu visitors.

Reviewed By Dave K

This hostel is clean, well-run, and very comfortable. Great showers & bedding. I stayed one night. It's a 5 minute walk to the train platform and the same to the Machu Picchu bus station. Zoraylis was at the desk during my stay, and she was efficient, welcoming, and generally great at keeping my group organized. Tiendas & restaurants less than a minute away.

Cold cold cold

Reviewed By RPickett18

I feel a little guilty knocking this hostel as the owner was so lovely but how it’s passable to leave the rooms as cold and tired as they are is beyond me. My room was at the rear where it’s just a metal roof and gaps around the window/door letting out any warm air you might have generated huddled in your coat in bed! Even sleeping in multiple layers under the heavy blankets is still uncomfortable. I asked to have a heater but was advised this isn’t possible due to the room rate but would have been willing to pay for more heating. They have two big gas patio heaters in the communal area but these aren’t used so there is nowhere at all to sit and defrost. To surely provide at least a hot water bottle or hairdryer would be a cheap way of tackling the cold a bit. To top things off the maid left my window open the 2nd day so came back to an even colder room. Room was very basic. Ceiling was peeling, gaps between walls and floors were crumbling, only one power socket high up on the wall with a dodgy extension cable, lights flickered before coming on and random posters of ghandi, John Lennon and Steve Jobs stare down on you in bed. The bathroom felt dark and dirty with a dark red sink and toilet and dark tiles. Soap was unwrapped so unsure if it’s a previous guests. Shower curtain looked years old with mould. Shower hard to adjust, is either boiling or freezing. Ran stone cold multiple times. No water past 9:30pm first night, second day the water for my room was turned off which is just strange for an occupied room where I wasn’t wasting it. The pros were the location, around a ten min pretty flat walk to Plaza De Armas, the English speaking host (she was warm and welcoming whilst nothing else was!) and cheap speedy laundry but I wouldn’t rebook solely on these pluses alone. Perhaps the other higher scoring reviewers had a thicker coat than me.

How good Kinsapacha is

I thing this place is very well placed. It's placed in the mountains. There is a Yoga Dome where you can take classes. I think this is a great place for families. My family of four had a great time here. I hope anyone who sees this visits Kinsapacha.
