The Heron's Cove Restaurant

Great place tucked away in the harbour in Goleen. Staff are very welcoming. Lovely feature of being able to browse the wine "cellar" with lots of variety and reasonably priced. The menu had a real local feel to it. Mussels are excellent and the favourites were the monkfish, steak and lamb chops. We didn't make it to dessert but experimented with another bottle from the cellar! A throughly enjoyable evening overlooking the harbour.

We returned three times to O'Sullivan's Bar during our fortnight's holiday. I think that says it all! The sandwiches were wonderful - 5 layers of smoked salmon in mine and my husband said the beef was superb. It was straight off a joint of meat and you could tell. I understand too that the Beamish was excellent too. The staff were helpful and friendly and Mr O'Sullivan was definitely the reason the bar was so great..

When you drive into Crook Haven you reach the end of the road and you feel miles from anywhere. We stayed in a local B&B and walked to the Crook Haven Inn for dinner. My wife had the black pudding and apple salad, which she said was delicious. I had an excellent fish chowder which had 3 muscles in their shells submerged in it. My wife had the hake with hazelnut and pepper, which she described as pleasant but a little strange. I had monkfish in a butter and parsley sauce, nicely cooked. Pub atmosphere and good cooking. The rating in Trip Advisor only allow me to say 'average' or 'very good' ... if I had free choice I would say 'good'.

There aren't that many places to eat in Crookhaven, so sometimes it is nice to go to Nottages' for a change. The food is not as spectacular as the prices might suggest, however it is nice food and the staff are professional and service good.

I pop in to Goleen takeaway on the way back from doing business in Crookhaven. i heard great reviews about the place so i wanted to try in out. i was not disappointed. on arrival you are greeted by a lovely lady with a smile on her face. there is a great selection of food and also homemade sausages rolls. i had the cajun chicken burger and my dad had the 1/4 burger with cheese and bacon. we also had the regular chips. hats of to the chef Stephen the burgers were delicious. the homemade chips were an added bonus. portions were big and i couldn't find any fault. i would highly recommend going there for food. the menu has something for everyone from gluten free to vegetarians. a huge selection. will be back soon.

Beach Bar Restaurant

Reviewed By Sergiy M - Dublin, Ireland

Food is delicious, prices are reasonable. But most important is the view. Restaurant is on hill above one of the best looking Beaches in Ireland. Golden sand and blue water down there look amazing. Service is not fast but not bad. Me, my wife and son really enjoyed the food.
