Excellent except ridiculous parking charges

We stayed 2 nights at Christallo and it was excellent. The location is very nice and the rooms are comfortable. The service and breakfast are excellent. The spa is lovely. The only downside is the ridiculous parking charge (20 euros for outside parking). Given the location and space available this should be free of charge.

Freezing rooms and hotel refuses to turn on heating

Reviewed By palomafts1

Staying at the hotel at the moment while it’s raining outside with weather going down to 9°C tonight and the hotel REFUSES to turn on the heating. We have asked several times to please turn on heating while they keep refusing. It’s freezing in the rooms and a total nightmare to even shower. Can’t believe they will have all guests uncomfortable and cold just to save some money. Worst service EVER.

DO NOT STAY HERE - VERY NOISY HOTEL - I had to move to another hotel day I checked - they will not refund my £430

Reviewed By janetc639

THIS HOTEL DON'T CARE IF THEIR CUSTOMERS CAN SLEEP OR NOT AND WILL NOT REFUND YOU EVEN WHEN THEY'RE IN THE WRONG. DO NOT STAY HERE! This was my worst hotel experience ever and I've stayed in some dodgy hotels in my time. I'm disabled, suffer from extreme fatigue as a result of my chronic condition, so I messaged in advance via Booking.com to request a quiet room. I was travelling solo and this was my first ski holiday in years so it was extra important that this happened. They said that wasn't a problem but when I turned up to check in they put me in a room sharing a wall with the elevator, the door to the elevator is at a right angle to the room door. I said I couldn't stay in the room as the door binging open, people getting on and off the lift as well as the lift going up and down would keep me awake all night. They moved me to another room but when I came back that evening the child in the room next door was screaming and banging against the walls, I could hear every word he said, he was so loud you could hear him 2 floors down. After an hour and a half I went to complain and the receptionist tried to get me to bang on the door and ask them to be quiet myself! Eventually he asked them to be quiet but the noise only got worse afterwards. I went downstairs to request a room move but I was told the only rooms left were these two identical rooms sharing a wall with the lift - one of the rooms I'd been offered previously. He told me the child would have to go to sleep eventually and I could sleep them - a shocking way to treat a guest. He also told me they had no other rooms available all week, they were booked out. I asked for him to ring the owner so I could speak to him and he refused. I was left with no choice but to walk around the resort looking for another room. I eventually found one and moved that night. My room was above the busiest apres ski bar in Cortina, open until 2am every night, and across from another one but I slept like a log every night as it was normal noise not noise that sounded like the screaming child was in the room with me behaving like a brat. They refused today to let Booking.com refund me my money and they took no responsibility for offering me totally totally unsuitable accommodation. Now I've got to take action through my credit card to get my money back. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

As good as it can be in Cortina

Reviewed By lucianos838

Of course there are luxurious resorts around Cortina d’Ampezzo, but, if you want to be in the middle of things, this is the place to be. It offers direct views of the main drag in town. It puts you in walking distance from everything. I don’t ski anymore, but even that aspect is covered. They can shuttle you to the slopes from main entrance. To me, the greatest thing was the opportunity to stroll up and down downtown Cortina. You can be anywhere in no more than 20 minutes on foot. The suite was quite spacious. The place is old and rustic, but I liked it. Very quaint. I realize this is not for everyone. You should look at as many pictures and decide for yourself. The only item I was displeased with is their gym. It was lacking in many respects. I’m sure they remediate this particular problem. If I ever return, I, most likely, will stay there.

Treated me like family

Reviewed By Y6914TLdavidp

My family had a fabulous stay here pre-covid. They went above and beyond to help us figure out how to get to the ski lodges during a very busy and crowded holiday season. The food was wonderful, the rooms are spacious and immaculate. It is not far from city center and right across the street from a bus stop. This will be my first choice if we return to the area in the future.
