Great cozy hotel

Firstly, the location is great, about 5 minutes away from the main square, and a stone throw away to many restaurants, yet in a quiet street. My room is very cozy. Bed is comfortable. Hot shower is hot, and water pressure is strongz The hotel is nicely decorated especially at the reception/lobby area and the courtyard. Breakfast was simple but fulfiling. The most important feature about this hotel is its staff. Everyone are polite, friendly and helpful. Always ready to help. And this makes a difference between a good hotel and a great hotel. Two thumbs up.

La Casa de Familia San Cristóbal está situada en San Cristóbal de Las Casas y alberga un jardín y un restaurante. Beautiful hotel a few blocks away from the main square
Reviewed By Mario CThis is a small but really nice place. We saw the amazing ranks in several websites and it is all true. The only negative is the fact that the internet is really bad. Staff is really nice and eager to help. It is just a 5 minute walk from the main square. The rooms are large and very nice decorated. Bathrooms are really nice too. You get your own coffee machine in your room. Definitely a great place to stay in San Cristobal. We got a much better rate by reserving directly with the hotel by phone.

Wonderful hotel
Reviewed By timothy_1992Tierra Maya is a very nice and peaceful hotel, within comfortable walking distance of the centre. The owners are very kind and offered a large amount of advice on tourism in the region, as well as booking a really good tour to agua azul, misol-ha and palenque. They kindly let me stay in my room beyond check-out because I was recovering from sickness which was hugely appreciated. The bed was really comfortable and the room perfectly clean and with plenty of natural light and hot water - the shower was great. There was always somebody around to help and the place felt really welcome. The WiFi was really strong both in the room and throughout the hotel. I will definitely stay here again next time I am in San Cristóbal and would recommend it for being excellent value and an all round wonderful place to stay.

Pool Full of Screaming Kids
Reviewed By CeeGunnA decent, centrally-located hotel with spacious rooms. However, there were many little things that added up to a negative experience for me and I won't stay here again. PROS Pool, air conditioning, very close to central park (Parque Miguel Hidalgo), good pillows, big rooms, restaurant on-site CONS The pool was full of screaming kids most of the time. The first room they put me in was 103 and the door opened directly onto the pool. The noise was atrocious so on my second day I asked to be moved to a quieter room, which the staff did quickly and with many apologies. They put me on the third floor, room 301, but because the pool is in an open-air section in the center of the hotel, the noise echoed all over the property. Quieter, but definitely not tranquil. The bed gave me a back ache. It only had one sheet and a very thin plasticky coverlet. The air conditioning had two settings -- FULL blast or off. So I either froze or roasted. The shower couldn't maintain a steady temperature. Towels were scratchy. No hand towel. There was no bottled water in the room and no agua pura dispenser in the lobby. This is something I've seen often at other hotels in Mexico and I missed having access to drinking water. There is an OXXO convenience store only steps away though. STAIRS -- this hotel is not mobility-friendly. There is a big set of stairs even to get to reception. Avoid if you have knee problems. Summary: there are better hotels in the same area. Skip this one unless you have kids and want a pool for them.

Best hotel I stayed in Mexico
Reviewed By Sequ'nun SThis hotel is by far the best hotel I stayed in Mexico during my 1 month travel. The hotel is very clean, facilities are great (coffee and coffee machine is also available in the room), staff is very helpful. It's also very close to bus terminal and supermarkets. There is free luggage storage too. Garden is to die for. Almost in a place like a forest. Kitchen facilities is available to use for free. If I ever come to Palenque again, I will definitely stay here again.

Reviewed By OrlandoM815Little gem in a very authentic area of Palenque. Great room, very confortable and nice breakfast included. AC, hot water, new equipment and good wifi, what can we expect more? Everything is decorated with good taste. We definitely recommend this address.
