It needed oiling desperately and squeezed opening and closing in addition to the slam, we could not sleep. The young bartender puts 1/2 sparkling water in the margaritas….that’s not a margarita! Food was good.

Reviewed By ACinSoCalSo you're going to Chetumal!! It's not Cancun...so put your expectations in line with your destination. This is a small city in an area not frequented by big money travelers. My wife and I went here for some business and some R&R. What we wanted: Safe, clean, friendly. What we got: Safe, working on it, and friendly. The location was awesome..at night there's a boatload of taco trucks and churro carts behind the hotel on the beach-boardwalk. We ate there at close to midnight and sat on the wall with our feet in the water. Everyone was friendly and safe as can be. The Tryp locks the parking lot at night to keep thieves away from your car. Property crime is as serious as it gets down there. Use your common sense and you'll be fine. Walking distance from several nice eateries. Good food everywhere. Room for improvement in the following areas: water pressure from shower to toilets is abysmal. This is common to the area. Cleanliness is so-so. They have folks cleaning all day long...the lobby bathroom is constantly cleaned. They use mops and buckets which leaves some "attention to detail" issues. Same with the rooms. Clean but not detailed. For $35/ day....we got a place to rest our heads, take a shower and start our day from there. With that context in mind - no complaints. If you're on a Honeymoon looking for 5 star VIP...this isn't it. I applaud their efforts and believe they will improve over time. PS - if you're on the third floor...which I recommend....you need to take the stairs.

The girl from admin was very friendly and she explained things in a nice and accurate way. I’m not staying here because I’m traveling with 4 new born kittens (3 weeks old) which are in a little kennel. Understood but not happy with the lack of empathy

It is very close to the Mayan culture museum, market, shops, taxis, small restaurants, and everything else. There is an on-site restaurant and Even when I don’t stay the night here, I still come to enjoy breakfast for a small fee. The rooms are basic with all the essentials. I’ve always had to call ahead or book online as most of the time (weekend) it is fully booked. Very clean hotel. I’ve always stayed in the first room with the king bed. It has a small claustrophobic bathroom but there is hot water every time. There is also a late night taco stand that sits right at the corner of this hotel. Can’t get hungry around this hotel.

Reviewed By Nicole_NVWWe stayed here whilst in transit to Belize. We arrived by bus so had to get a taxi from the bus station to the hotel but this was fairly cheap. Before travelling I picked out a handful of hotels in the area and made a note of them. I had read several hotels reviews and they indicated that you could just turn up anywhere and get a hotel room very easily. So, on this advice we did not make any reservations. We arrived at this hotel first and were given a room straightaway. The rooms are very much like a Travellodge or Premier Inn (though a little bit more basic). We had air-con but the unit was a bit noisy so we didn't really switch it on for long. There were 2 comfortable queen size beds and a TV. The room was very clean and pleasant and adequate for what we wanted. There was no restaurant but a quick check on TripAdvisor found us several good options within walking distance. We found a really nice Italian about 10 minutes walk away.

Reviewed By Arlette AStaff work together to steal from its guest. Went to the pool for less than half hour and return to discover more than $500 missing from my purse. Made a report and nothing was done and they told me if I call the police it will not make a difference. Beware don't ever stay at this place. That guy in the picture works at the front desk and coordinated with another employee to rip us off.

Reviewed By TheParadiseGuyRight next to the mall. Easy to get a cab and shop. Very clean, nice staff, breakfast included. Enjoyed my stay. Only challenge is there was a funny smell throughout the hotel. Smelled like an industrial cleaning product that was being over used.
