Sleep, Eat, Repeat Bed and Breakfast

Above and beyond!!!

Reviewed By deckett

My partner and I stayed here for two nights while visiting the area for the first time. My partner is vegan and Sleep Eat Repeat went above and beyond to provide a vegan equivalent for everything. The whole breakfast was made vegan - homemade breakfast rolls, homemade yoghurt and a croissant, all vegan! Even the coffee and biscuits were swapped for vegan alternatives and I was also given non vegan treats too. There were milk alternatives in the fridge as well at ketchup if we needed it. Every detail has been thought about, you will want for nothing in this B&B. Iron, hairdryer, sewing kit, mirror, bin, hangers, and self controlled heating to name a few. The location is perfect, and right next to the station, with no worries about parking needed as their is a car park just 1 minute from the door. Amazingly priced for the high quality service we received. The room was spacious and comfortable, very clean and well kept. With a handwritten letter greeting us in the room, and wonderful owners who should be so proud of what they’ve built here, I cannot fault Sleep Eat Repeat. Thank you x

The Partridge

The only Timpson pub in England! Applying their established principles of ‘upside-down management’ the Timpson family trust Partridge colleagues with the freedom to use their initiative to provide good food and drink with truly personal service. With this in mind, the priority is to pick people with personalities to run all parts of the pub. They are trained to put customers first. Unlike the big chains, there is no pub standard menu issued by head office, our chefs are encouraged to create their own special dishes and many become established favourites. The Partridge, within yards of junction 10 of the M56, has 10 rooms, with bed and breakfast providing a convenient oasis for people on the move.

Lovely food appalling service

Went for a meal on Sat 4 June. Had previously had good experiences at the pub and it was a go to for a reasonable value for money meal. Unfortunately our experience this time was not good. The pub was not busy but the service was really bad. Didn’t get the chance to order a drink before we were being asked to order. Main course came shortly after we had finished starters. When we had finished mains we were left with empty plates for more than 15 minutes before anyone could be bothered to clear them. By then we weren’t interested in looking at dessert menus. We then had to wait a further 10 mins for the bill. Won’t be going back in a hurry which is a shame as the food is excellent

Outstanding pub, hospitality and beautiful rooms in a very peaceful location. Food is of a very high quality especially the breakfast which was included in the room rate. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were very accommodating.

Stayed here on one of the most freezing cold nights of the year, 19th February 2022.. On arrival no heating on and had to keep coats on until it was time to go to bed. Went into bathroom to find a filthy toilet brush and mould around the shower and a leaking toilet. Veneer on headboard was lifting off, dust on heater, cobweb hanging from the light and blood on my duvet. No one around during our stay until the morning of departure when I was able to speak briefly to Peter, the owner. I wanted matters sorted before leaving the property but he said he was too busy on another call to speak to me about all the problems so I left a list with him. I reported this to booking.com which was basically a waste of time. Peter then offered me a free nights accommodation which I obviously declined and asked for the refund instead. He then went on to send me a very abusive, unprofessional response saying I was a very disappointing, despicable guest and a blackmailer. This property is advertised as luxury accommodation with de luxe rooms and it certainly isn’t my idea of either of these descriptions. Peter doesn’t like constructive criticism and retaliates with abuse.

Narrowboat Inn

The worst “apartment “ I have ever stayed in.

Reviewed By Linda W

The Positive The staff member on duty was polite and efficient. She took my money£150.00 for two nights on arrival. I had confirmed that I would be arriving after 9pm. On Saturday while away from the Pub I found an alternative place to stay and returned to collect my belongings. She was not authorised to give me money back for the second night. On request I gave her my contact details so that the manager could contact me by phone. I have not heard anything almost one week later. The Negatives General The accommodation should not be described as an “apartment “. It was 5 rooms basically knocked together at some point in the past but unfinished. Floor coverings were worn, Lino tiles poorly fitted and paint splashed and unmatched. It needed to be decorated and properly refurbished throughout. I was booked to stay on Friday and Saturday night. I was not told that it may be noisy as it was directly over the pub bar ever and Friday night was karaoke night. Saturday was Live Music night from “9 until late”…. It was very noisy. The entry door was a thin, very scratched internal door with the handle removed. Just one lock at shoulder level. Not secure or fire safe. The rooms would almost certainly fail a standard safety check. The kitchen had adequate cupboards but the working top was badly stained. The sink was old and stained. The mono tap was very loose fitted, and not secure for use. The bathroom was large and scruffy. The old toilet seat wobbled. There was no mirror over the washbowl. Black floor tiles were splattered with white paint. The separate shower cubicle was old and had mould around the window and shower door frames. I did not try to use it. The lounge had a large TV set and old worn corner sofa. The bedroom had a cheap old double and single bed and an old black fake leather sofa. The curtains in both rooms were very thin and old. There was a hanging rail with unmatched coat hangers for clothes. The bedding was clean. There was no bedside light only the main light with a cord hanging over the bed. This property should not be offered for rental until it is properly refurbished and professionally checked for fire safety etc.

The food was pretty good being the 3 plates for £12.25. The chicken strips were tasty and the hot pizza good. The problem is that the pub is looking very shabby and needs updating. The customer service was quick and efficient.

Different?

Interesting place . Stayed in Pecorino room very stylish for sone I suppose but very impractical for others (us !). Great shower , open bathroom but unless you use the bath it’s a big taker of space … which is at a premium . Nowhere to sit comfortably with a table to hand , difficult to find your way around at night due to poor light switches and most concerning … a couple of nails protruding from the floor boards . Oh … and it and it seems to be in a flight path . Been tired all day since getting home which reflects our sleep experience. Saw 4 members of staff … 3 we’re outstanding… 1 a young man much less so. Took us to our table which was very cramped , dark and uncomfortable. Then didn’t bring my drink … all rescued by an excellent and attentive young lady . The food was OK .. no more then that .. you couldn’t see it for a start as everywhere was too gloomy and dark and my Bruscetta starter was poor . Now to the wine ! What a clever ruse they use … never seen it before on my extensive travels . They mostly sell a grape variety and you can’t work out the price of a glass … very subtle and clever but not transparent. Breakfast was excellent. All in all 6 out of ten . Good location , mostly excellent staff , slightly above average food , wet wine and odd accommodation. I am sure others won’t agree but that was our experience.

The Rodney

shouldnt be renting out rooms

Reviewed By Richard P

The day we booked was the day of a rugby match....this should not be a consideration for most hotel booking circumstances. The Rodney is one of the closest proximity pubs to the Warrington wolve ground so after our long journey, tired and eager to get rested before beginning our evening, we had to lug our cases through 500 rugby fans who were "partying" with loud music and karaoke. which meant waiting 3 rows deep in the queue at the bar...even though we didn't even want the bar, we just wanted our room. they gave us keys, lead us out the pub, round the back into a dirty and unkempt yard you would expect at the back of a "pub", full of barrels and broken chairs etc. up some stairs to the "Bevan Suite" which is the photo they use, it looks nice in the photo, but drab in reality. The floor literally vibrated as directly below us was a booming party karaoke, with NO SOUND INSULATION catering to 500+ people which surrounded the pub, this was to continue till midnight. and we could expect much the same the following night as it was a Saturday. I cannot emphasise how literally the room was filled with the sound, this isn't just a rant that "it was quite loud" its simple, they should CLOSE the hotel on nights they expect such rivery. We were intending to be out of the room, so I was able to forgive the situation, but had I have known in advance there is NO WAY we would have booked. there is also no parking facilities so you have to pay one of the local car parks, another hidden cost. the room was ok, however, the shower was weak and unusable other than it leaked all over the bathroom floor. the room rate was £60, so you don't expect much, but this is similar to rooms I have paid £20 for in the past, the picture was deceptive. this is the fourth pub in Warrington I have used and all have been terrible (one acceptable, but that was more of a hotel anyway with more than a couple of rooms), so this will be the last time and I will now stick to proper hotels... There is no wifi (never mind free) plus poor sound insulation and it being THE main route between warrington center and the motoway and rest of town, every truck, bike, drunk person woke you up.
