Nice hotel in a nice location

Reviewed By RabePaul

After many travels to European cities, we've concluded that a major consideration for lodging is being close to the transport hub. This place, being just a few blocks from the Translink Bus Terminal, met our needs. Since we were driving into Derry but taking the bus out, we enjoyed a good compromise of a car-friendly accommodation close to the terminal. It was also good lodging in a nice location to enjoy the city itself. Our room had phone, full bath (nice feature in European lodging), kettle, iron & board, and TV with 27 channels. It was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. Garage parking is limited but free, and free wifi is available throughout the hotel. Staff was efficient & welcoming. Being within the walled city, innumerable services were nearby. Being "designed" centuries ago, the streets of Derry can be difficult for auto travel. I consider it almost miraculous that, while driving into the city, we found this place after getting thoroughly confused. I can only suggest following the highway signs for "Central Derry," then just keep going up the hill until you see the war memorial. When you're there, the Malduron should be within view.

More care needed

We have stayed at this Premier Inn many times prior to covid. It has always been exceptional and without a doubt the customer always came first! Unfortunately during our latest 4 night stay this was not the case. As rooms were not being serviced. We had to ask at reception for all that we needed... Unfortunately neither myself or my husband are accustomed to this so it made the stay unpleasant as our room wasn't cleaned etc throughout the 5 days we were there. We will probably stay again as it is close proximity to where we need to be? Overall very dissatisfied with this particular stay

Perfect location

Reviewed By Mathtrawl

A very quiet hotel on a Main Street overlooking the river and Peace Bridge. Check in was very efficient and staff were helpful throughout our stay. Due to a bank holiday and several tour groups staying at the hotel our tour group was given a time slot for breakfast to minimize wait time. At first I found this off-putting but it worked so well that I changed my mind. Breakfast buffet was typical but good. We had 2 group dinners at the hotel and both were very good with excellent service. My room overlooked the front of the hotel but was still quiet at night with the window open. A desk top fan helped to keep the room very comfortable. Bedroom and bath were very clean and comfortable. The concierge was very helpful with recommendations for lunch and rather than point us to a map, he walk outside and pointed out directions using visible landmarks. Spectacular fitness center and lovely pool.

I’ve stayed here several times now when visiting my home town. It’s a really comfortable hotel with great staff. The room we usually stay in is well equipped and in excellent condition. The food is good and the bar is cosy - and well stocked! The location is perfect for visiting the city. I always recommend the hotel to anyone I meet who is going to Derry/Londonderry.

Rooms large but in definite need of an upgrade .. As did the corridors etc .. The Inn seems to be a bit of an institution in Port Rush .. needs a bit of TLC !

Handy midweek dinner

Reviewed By Garygaltec

We live local to this establishment and midweek we like to go out for a handy tea without cooking. We have given it the benefit of the doubt on numerous occasions and have been left wanting when it comes to good food. Not sure if it's what the chef has to work with or their lack of interest but the food is a big disappointment. On a positive note they're waiting/bar staff are very good. I would love to give this place a good review but at present it would be a disservice to other patrons.
