They lie about things once you contact them, I’ve been travelling for 3 months and this is the biggest scam I’ve come across.

Our waterfront paradise is on the island, Isla Carenero. The resort now encompasses 6 1/2 acres of lush, tropical landscaping and over 600 feet of waterfront. Our backyard is verdant rain forest. We sit on a point facing west, which captures the refreshing Caribbean breeze and offers up fabulous sunsets. We are just a two minute boat ride across the bay to Bocas Town. We enjoy the convenience of close proximity to town, yet are removed from the hub hub, noise, pavement, cars and heat, while on our own tropical island.The resort is peaceful and quiet. We have hummingbird feeders throughout. Many different birds, including parrots can be heard singing and conversing in the trees.

Reviewed By Navigate60524471195Over rated and over priced. How this place has 4 stars is beyond me. $550 for 4 nights! Our over water cabin was the worst place we ever stayed. Small and cramped. Old and in need of restoration. The lamps had holes in them, the sink had great big chips in the base and would move if you leant on it, even slightly. The door was rotting away, had a huge gap underneath, letting in all the bugs. Really old, noisy a/c unit that didn’t work properly. Breakfast was not included, not even a bottle of water. No safe either. Breakfast wasn’t that great, with everything all on the same plate and then the bill thrown on your table, whether you had asked for it or not. Almost forgot to mention the loud music from a club on the opposite island that went on til 4am. Was supposed to be a treat for my birthday. Stayed one night and moved on. Not even worth 1 star.

Reviewed By DrBobKilroyFarro Colibri “Light house and Hummingbird” is as delightful as the pictures suggest. The rooms are small, but comfortable and each has porch looking out over a small swimming area. Thousands of tiny fish swim below enjoying the shade offered by the docks and casitas. Grab something from the local market, mix a drink and chill out in your porch that faces away from the bustling town across the small channel and out to beautiful green islands to the East Luz and the rest of staff are warm and helpful. Breakfast is simple and delicious. You can stand at the end of the hotel dock and in no time flag a water taxi to take you over to Bocas town for $1-$2. The Island is small, but quaint, with just enough places to dine with in a 5 minute walk to cover a 3 night stay. Downside would be the water taxis that zip by the place all day and the Wed, Fri and Sat night party music, but that’s also the case in Bocas town. The room TV is tiny, but if you’re here to watch TV..... Well, I am not here to judge. This is also a great launching site for any of the tours to the more secluded islands ?, which from surf to nature are a must. Faro Colibri is a great value.

Los Balcones Over the Sea features a unique palafitte-style structure over the sea in Carenero Cay, in the paradisiac Bocas del Toro islands. It features a private jetty and a daily breakfast is included. The air-conditioned rooms at the Los Balcones Over the Sea come with a cable TV, a Ceiling Fan and a private bathroom with hot water. Superior rooms also have a terrace with sea views. This hotel has a restaurant specialised in Spanish and local dishes. There is also a bar. Free WiFi is offered throughout. Activities like surf lessons, horseback riding or snorkelling can be booked at the tour desk. Sport fishing can also be practised onsite. The centre of Bocas, with plenty of bars and nightclubs, is 500 metres away, while Las Estrellas Beach is 10 minutes’ boat ride. Bocas del Toro Airport is 1 km away and Panama is 40 minutes by plane.

Reviewed By 445kishacQuite place , breakfast is very good egg . Very good WIFI . I stayed 3 nights have no problem . The staff are nice . The hotel is pretty clean and the price is very affordable . overall i enjoy the island .

Small resort/hotel on Isla Carenero across from Bocas on Colon Island. Recently purchased, and being completely renovated. A white sandy beach on the south-east stretch of the island provides a great starting point for many local activities. A new Royal 2-bedroom suite has been added with a full kitchen.

Reviewed By bunkybobbitJust waiting in the airport at Bocas after leaving the Buccaneer and thought I’d leave my impressions, the good, the bad, and the ugly. First the good: Elizabeth, her sister, and everyone working there are fantastic. I can’t say enough about how welcoming and sincerely nice they all are. The view and sunrises are spectacular. The pizza place next door is nice, and the young German guy serving is very sweet and friendly. The bad: the toilet just smells. Apparently it’s a composting toilet, so we gave it some leeway, but holy cow! This morning it plugged and was not pretty. The room (lower level) is rustic. The large bed has a mosquito net but not the single bed. Bring one! Bibi’s, where you get breakfast, is supposed to open at 8:30 at the latest. They always opened late, once as late as 9:15. So if you’re an early riser, stock snacks. The ugly: bugs. Lots and lots of noseeums, aka midges, aka chitras. So bad that you can’t go out without covering up from head to toe (including socks) and long sleeves. I’m covered in 100+ bites and I do not lie on the beach. Got them while eating at Bibi’s and sitting out in front of, and inside, our lodgings. You will get bit inside the screened off room, and in your bedroom. Deet does not work. If it weren’t for the chitras, it would have been a very nice time. As it is I’m very happy to be leaving it behind. I’m attaching a pic of one of my feet. Times that by about 10 or so for the rest of me. Oh! And bites on the soles of your feet are not fun.

Great personalized attention
Reviewed By abcmayraJoan and her staff were super helpful and nice from the first moment we arrived. We got there at 8am and even though check-in was at 3pm she let us check-in earlier at no cost since the room was available. The place is beautiful, we stayed in the mini cabin over the water, they are small (as stated in the name) but comfy, clean and with a nice terrace. I only have a small complain about the room and is the small old air conditioner, how ever the first night was naturally super fresh, the second night it was a bit warmer but nothing to die for. The restaurant on the deck has the best view and the sunset from there is gorgeous, it was my boyfriend's birthday and they arrenged us a nice table with a delicious dinner. Overall we had a great time, I would definetly come back!

La maison est un petit bijoux au milieu d un paradis!!!! Encore merci.
