Candolim is just north of the Mandovi river and is home to Goa's most popular and well known resort and holiday village. As such, it's not a typical backpackers destination. The Candolim beach itself does not have much to offer when compared to its livelier neighbor, Calangute. However, if sunbathing and take the occasional dip is your thing then Candolim will offer you the perfect experience. One of the more interesting sights from Candolim beach is the bulk carrier ""River Princess"" which ran aground 100 metres offshore. While at the Candolim beach do not miss out the Aguada Fort. The fort was built by the Portuguese way back in 1912 for defense against the Dutch and the Maratha invaders. Candolim is aslo a very popular evening destination as it has a number of very good resteraunts and night clubs.

A lodge for Drivers.. Filthy
Reviewed By arshadb810Booked the highest category - deluxe room with balcony for 2 nights through GoIbibo, upon arrival they did not find my the booking. After 30-45 mins of argument they were able to retrieve my booking and got the room that added a big surprise. Pics shown online are completely misleading. The room was filthy and very dirty. Wires everywhere in balcony, cigarette buds, washroom in bad shape and towels with heavy stains. The balcony was towards the backside where staff go around making noise and nuisance. Upon request to change the room they said we need to pay RS 800 extra for another room which was of same size. Later at the reception I found that drivers are booking their rooms here for stay. To make it worse they lit garbage towards backside next morning and smoke started getting in the room which was intolerable and we checked out in a day. Go Ibibo didn’t help anyways despite complaining. Infact they closed the query without even resolving. A scam by go ibibo

It is close to candolim beach and very near to baga where all the famous pubs are located The food is terrible and expensive. They will provide 1lt water bottle per room only on the arrival date irrespective of the duration of the stay even though it is complementary. Bedsheets are very dirty and no ventilation in washroom. Complementary breakfast will be bread butter(2 breads per person) or poha or maggi. (anyone on single day) We found ants on bread and tea, so it would be great to skip breakfast. Just choose as your last option.

Tranquility in Candolim
Reviewed By 381ruthcJust loved this beautiful piece of tranquility in Condolim. Myself and 4 friends had a night stay there on the 4th April and wished we were able to stay longer. There are 4 huts which were exceptionally clean with hot running water. I believe there may be a few more for next season. There is AC, a TV and free WiFi. We had complementary bottles of water and fresh bananas from the tree. If your timing is right you will receive fresh mangoes or jack fruit from the garden too. At night time the gates are closed and there is also CCTV. A full breakfast menu is also available. Saahil was a lovely host, very welcoming and made sure our stay was perfect. Pratima also made contact both checkin/out days to see if everything was ok. If you fancy a pool day rather than the beach you can use the facilities at the apartments next door for a small fee. I would certainly recommend Micailla’s Garden of Dreams to anyone thinking of going to Candolim, but who also wanted a bit of peace at the same time. Thank you for a great stay ?

Reviewed By Claudia LSpacious houses but not well maintained. Springs coming out of one sofa, burn mark on one vanity stool, damp patches evident and kitchens not well stocked. You have to ask for the maid service and they may come at any time of day. You also have to ask specifically for clean sheets and more toilet tissue. The villas are well located being a short walk away from the main hub and beach and there’s a taxi tank nearby. The villas are well known by local excursion companies, so it is easy to explore.

Reviewed By andrewjklkoWe were a group of 14. Took the complete villa. Location is decent, place is decent. The housekeeping, caretaker staff has no clue what to do. They were 3 of them and even to get one cup of tea or coffee it took them 40 mins to serve. We were told by the agent who booked us here that there is a fixed menu card but when we asked for the Same at the villa, the caretakers had no clue about any menu card. They had some own verbal price list and when we objected to the rates they openly offered us 30% discount on their verbal price list. We relied on the caretaker for only breakfast but that was a disaster. 3 of them looked lost everytime we asked them to prepare any breakfast. They just didn't seem trained to manage these services. We stayed there 4 days. Not even one day they came to clean our room. There was no water coming in the bathroom taps on two occasions, simply because they forgot to turn on the motor. They were preparing ready to eat food in breakfast which we strongly were not happy about. Prior to arrival we gave them a list of items for breakfast and they in confidence said everything will be ready but when we reached there most of the food items we requested for was missing. It was a disaster at breakfast time as we waited at least 40 mins just for basic tea just for 2ppl. I will personally never recommend this place unless your prepared to depend on swiggy Zomato etch and just use the pool, room etch. The pool and room are the only highlight i can mention. I had the experience to walk into the kitchen once to take some cutlery and there were cockroaches in the drawer cabinets which i even showed it to them. Unbelievable... We paid almost a lakh during our stay there, and the experience was not worth at all...
