Bel hôtel le service est agréable et il est bien situé. Les chambres sont joliment décorées et ont vraiment du charme Ceci dit les toilettes sont super étroites. Pour 35 000 (54€) vous vous logez bien quand même

Adrien Beach Hotel

parfaitement situé

Reviewed By procameroun

A true Gem and Zen holiday spot in the West of Cameroon

Reviewed By VacayisBae

I am a Cameroonian who lives in Cameroon and have always heard about this amazing vacation resort in Petpenoun but it was always marred by a story of the long and uncomfortable drive, which really discouraged me to check it out. I finally mustered the courage to it the road this June when a dear sister friend of mine invited me for a 4 day trip out there and boy...was it worth it! soo soo worth it! First, the drive is not that bad, its about 6 hours door to door, when you leave the city of Douala. Plus i recommend you use an SUV which will make the drive less more comfortable. Honestly the only part of the journey which is bumpy is the last leg when you get into the dusty road from Foumbot to the resort (which only last about 30 minutes). About the grounds and the scenery, just absolutely mwaaaaaahhhhhh!! The serene view of the lake with the back-drop of the green mountains, its like a therapeutic massage for the eyes, just mwaaaahhh!. i would just sit out on the balcony facing the lake and watch the lake and mountains for hours, while reading or just straight up chilling. I also loved the setting of the restaurant and the little lounge area, soo cozy. I give the food a thumbls up! the ladies at the restaurant (Francoise and Magdeleine) were soo nice and accommodating, the meals were freshly prepared and you must have the avocados from here at all meals just cos i said so! The home made potato fries are soo yummy as well. almost everything is made on site, the brioche in the morning with the home made jam....ohh la laa...melts in my mouth. i also enjoyed the locally made coffee as well from Koutaba. we stayed at one of the lakefront rooms and they are large enough to host at least 5 people (you can request for additional small beds), i really enjoyed the fact that could do my morning workouts in the lawn area infront of my room, with the lake and mountain view, i said girl you is a baller!! if you enjoy outdoor activities, then this place is for you, the question is not what do they have, rather, what don't they have? they got it all baby! tennis court, swimming pool, kayaking, boat paddling, hiking, bikes for rent, a 9 hole golf course, horse riding.....i'm definitely leaving something out but you need a 2 week vacation to exhaust all the outdoor activities. I also had a chat with the owner, Mr. Vincent who lives nearby and is often seen walking the grounds, very welcoming and is always checking to make sure oyu are enjoying your stay! muchos gracias! Overall, an absolute gem at the end of a dusty road, worth every hour you drove to get there! and oohhh..the weather..was just mwaaah, not sure its like this throughout the year but just a perfect temperature during the day.

Le Relais Porte Mayo

Hidden Gem in Far North Cameroon!

Reviewed By Ray D

Well- I do not know what to tell you. As a foreign aid worker- and going to Maroua- I did not expect to find much to eat in terms of "western fare"- boy was I wrong! Apparently- for the last 30 years or so- a French lady decided to open a restaurant- and added rooms- and so was born Port Mayo. Coming into Cameroon- and the far north where my work is focused on countering violent extremism and the Boko Haram- I did not expect to find a place the serves a 3 course French meal!!! Steak, Cheese, quality bread, butter, ice cream, beer and wine- and other items you cannot find in the far north- can be found here- and are quality. the menu is limited (not in size but because of availability of goods) but they generally manage to rotated a different offering every night without repeating. this in and of itself is no small miracle considering the location. Salads- all are wonderful- and varied- and prepared and served excellently Main courses- cooked to perfection- whether beef, fish, chicken- etc. - Unbelievably tasty! Deserts- always something different and tasty. Since this is the only place in town- if you eat there every night- well- by week #2 you see the same fare on the menu- but WHO CARES!? Its REAL food- like I would expect in Paris.. only I'm in the middle of nowhere Cameroon!! Did I mention- all this can be had for just 10-$12 USD? In America- I would gladly fork over $30.00 for a similar meal. This is $12- and it tastes like it is $50! The place is very quaint- with indoor and outdoor seating- and the wait staff are wonderful. You can get by with English- but better if you speak French. This place and what the owner has done are nothing short of a little miracle- and a real life saver for the expat community! The only other food available is street food- and soya- and that get's old pretty quick. This is a "must do" if you are ever in Maroua Cameroon- and is one of those rare little places in the world where someone made their little dream come true. I'm only giving it a "poor" location- because it's in Maroua Cameroon- which is generally unaccessable to all people.

The Zwinkels Trekkers Camp is situated in Belo sub division, some 50 km North of Bamenda at the foot of the Belo Mountains. Constructed to enable tourists to have an easy access to Lake Oku, to let them enjoy the magnificent nature, wildlife, go trekking in the Mbingo Hills, explore the famous Ring Road, to interact with the friendly villagers as well as to go horse riding with the local Fulanis. There are 2 well equipped bungalows with en suite facilities and 5 simple bouckaroos with a double bedroom each, a high standard sanitary block with hot and cold water/showers and flush toilets. In the beautiful pavillion you can relax and enjoy a good African or European meal and a modern bar with assorted drinks is available.

Didn’t meet with my expectations

Reviewed By TheKiwiHasLanded

I had been very excited to stay in Zwinkels Mountain Lodge since initially planning our Cameroon trip so was genuinely excited to arrive. The rooms are nice, simple but clean and the grounds themselves are lovely. It’s quiet and although it adds on time and expense to get to and from the lodge each time you leave, we booked our stay to be away from the noise. DO NOT get talked into going to the ‘Palace’ as it is either a scam, or Belo’s best joke aimed at the tourists. It wasted half a day, €40, and should never have been recommended as one of the top attractions. When I asked staff why they recommended it, one said they told the manager not to recommend it and the manager said she had never heard negative feedback but hadn’t been there before. Unfortunately it left a bad taste in our mouths given the ridiculousness of the visit. If your plan is to visit Mt. Oku and hike, my advice is to investigate prices yourself and not just accept Zwinkels. I recommend taking motorbikes to the tea plantation. It was a great day out. I had three showers, two of which were cold and they only switch electricity on from 18:00 - 20:30 so you’ll need to be organised with your charging.

Very Convenient Hotel

Reviewed By T M

Stayed at the Pan Pacific for four nights while visiting Singapore. Conveniently located to the CBD and easy access to the SMRT Promenade Station. Also, the Suntec Center can be reached by a walking bridge. Suntec has many shops, restaurants, and a grocery store. The hotel buffet breakfast and dinner are the best we have ever had. There is western, Chinese, Indian, and Japanese choices (and probably a few more). Will stay here again.

In the street you buy your fruits and vegatables to cook. The hotel itself has a good restaurant and a nice bar. The staff is really making your stay!!! Very friendly and helpfull.
