Better when we came in January 2022.

We came for an evening meal on 20th April 2022. There were two staff members, male & female. They were very helpful. The starter, black pudding and poached egg was to die for, and just as good as the last time. The main meal was fine. We had our lattes out in the bar area. The waiter brought them and they had both spilled into the saucers. He made no attempt to off to clean them up. I had to ask for a serviette, which he had no idea what one was! He brought a napkin, so we could mop up the excess in the saucers. My latte was not very hot, so I could not drink it all. We could not comment to the staff as they had disappeared downstairs. When we were ready to leave my husband had to go and find someone so we could pay. The waitress came up and when I mentioned about the lukewarm coffee, she just said it is sometimes not too hot. There was no apology or offer of a refund. We will think very carefully before we decide if we go back.

a very nice time out in the green

I needed to take a break a few days from the intense daily life of a single mom and the greencraig pod was a perfect place to take this break, it felt like a sweet cozy nest on the countryside where I could just unwind and be with myself a few days. The pod is charming, very clean and the warmth of the wood is adding a lot to the experience. Either alone or as a couple or a family with small children it is a very nice place to be.

The Old Coach House Hotel

First time visit.

Reviewed By William B

Arrived here after a long journey from home. Our booking was not off to a good start the young lad dealing with us could not find us on the system but by good fortune they had a room for us. We asked for help with our luggage and the young lad was seconded for that too. Haven eating earlier we did not need the restaurant. We got into the room tried to make the most of it as their was not enought furniture to lay out our clothing and belongings. Also could have done with a bath but wife found slaters around the plug hole so that put paid to that. tI had a meeting to go to so wife contented herself in front of telly till I got back. We were out all of the next day with friends so did not need the room for anything else but sleep. The only upside of our stay was their large healthy breakfast. It set you up for the day and was the only feature of the stay. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone the room had holes in the wall and the room had nothing going for it. We just wanted out and homeward bound. We will not be back.

Not for long term stays

The Room: Some decorating work and repairs needed in the room but the fact the hotel sign was in disrepair it wasn’t a surprise to find the room in the same state. I was unable to use the shower at all as it is a perfect size for children but I struggled to get inside and found my shoulders nestling against the shower doors making washing very difficult. The Food: The hotel restaurant was the saving grace of my stay with amazing food, and fast friendly service.

please look at my review before you book this property , it has rodents in the walls and a leaking roof , after much deliberation with welcome cottages THEY refunded us half the rental cost after looking at our videos and photos and claimed they are only the third party and a apologised and told us if we wanted the other half ,to contact the owners , who bluntly refused and ignored all my emails and texts , welcome cottages don't refund easily , the cottage is in a stunning location but unfortunately the cottage is tired, please don't hesitate to contact me to the videos and pictures.
