Reviewed By odetoaI came here to get some coffee and a light breakfast for my gf and myself. When I ordered, the lady in the kitchen was sitting down. When the waitress put my order in, the cook got so upset she was slamming stuff around and not wanting to do it at all with such a bad attitude although all I ordered was sliced fruit with yogurt. So she didn’t even have to cook anything. The waitress was kind to me though and she was very patient with the other lady too.

El personal es súper amable, la habitación es limpia, el desayuno muy rico y tienes todo lo que necesitas. ? Además, el hotel está súper cerca de la playa (literalmente, a unos pasos de la playa), arriba hay una palapa donde se puede ver el mar, tiene una vista muy bonita. ? Un agradecimiento especial al personal por su fabulosa calidez y amabilidad, en verdad, te hacen sentir en casa. ?

Stay Away
Reviewed By MychaelR5Had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with Casa Kuaa. The TL;DR is that they told me it was not safe to come because of a storm (they evacuated) and charged me over $800 anyways. Same thing happened to a few other people as well. Right before my fiancé and I were heading down there, Hurricane Agatha was making its way to Puerto Escondido. I ended up calling Casa Kuaa to ask what they were doing and they told me they were evacuating the hotel, so obviously we did not go. It was a good thing I contacted them because had I’d shown up, I would’ve not had a place to stay at their hotel. A couple days later after the storm had passed I tried getting in touch with them (WhatsApp, called, google, anything) and it was almost impossible to get a response from them. Finally got a response and I asked them what the status of my refund was, and they told me they were not going to refund anything. I asked how they could keep my money even after they told me they were evacuating and they gave me a few different responses: 1. Maybe I could’ve taken a room towards the back of the hotel (which is BS as they said they were evacuating), 2. That was just their policy, and 3. They incurred a lot of costs because of the storm. They also tried pawning me off to a third party site (Booking.com) who can’t do anything without the hotels acceptance, which Casa Kuaa refused (Booking reached out and Casa Kuaa refused the refund). So after telling me they evacuated before I got there, they are taking the stance that it is OK to keep my full payment. This place is obviously just out for the cash and has no intent on doing the right thing, which obviously sucks. Plenty of other places in Puerto Escondido, don’t waste your time with this place as they clearly will find any excuse to just take your money and provide nothing in return. Going to try and file complaints with the local municipality as well.

Beautiful Oasis
Reviewed By JSprinkle2018We stayed at Casa Bicachi for 3 night and absolutely loved it! The room was very clean and well decorated. The staff were all helpful and friendly (they helped us with calling taxis numerous times). I loved hanging out by the pool area. The hotel was not busy during our stay, so we had the pool to ourselves most days. If you are headed to La Punta, Puerto Escondido, Casa Bicachi is definitely the best place to stay!

El Hotel Gallo de Mar se encuentra en Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico, situado a 100 metros de la playa Punta Zicatela y ofrece 6 habitaciones privadas. Nuestra excelente ubicacion nos coloca cerca de restaurantes, bares y tiendas. A la distancia perfecta para no perder el ambiente de total relajacion y silencio. Contamos con una cocina equipada compartida, una alberca de 12m de largo y un jardin con zona para relajarse. Tambien ofrecemos servicio de limpieza diaria de las habitaciones y WiFi gratuito en todas las instalaciones. Todas las habitaciones del Hotel Gallo de Mar tienen bano privado, ventiladores y mosquiteros. El aeropuerto mas cercano es el aeropuerto internacional de Puerto Escondido, ubicado a 9 km del hotel. Hablamos espanol, ingles, frances y aleman!
Fanttastic place
Reviewed By witoldf2020We have spend few days in gallo del mar in group o 8 people. Before we arrived, we get some good advices from Sergio (the owner) and he was very heplfull with everything during our stay. This place is super cozy, chill and relaxing. Pool is awesom during hot Puerto days. Hotel is very clean and whole staff is super friendly. Location is excellent as well, beach is just behind the corner. We gonna come back definitly!

Wifi oh, Wifi. Wherefore art thou o Wifi?
Reviewed By 796kirkwDespite the nice grounds, close proximity to the beach and friendly staff, I wouldn't recommend this place for one reason. The Wifi was extremely poor. I was only there for one week but on one occasion, there was no internet service for a 24-hour period. The lack of hot water which was quickly remedied by Dete, one of the employees on the second day, a frustrating and finicky door handle, barking dogs (a third world normality) not to mention the little scorpion who kindly did not sting me though it was underfoot in my room did not bother me. It was the low quality Wifi that was the worst. Once I had to go a block away to obtain service outside a restaurant where I had been to in order to get a connection. Puerto's infrastructure leaves something to be desired and I expect that in places like this which are struggling economically but it was too much in this case. At least a couple of the restaurants in La Colonia Santa Maria had reliable service.

Slice of paradise!
Reviewed By madeleinetoorEverything about Casamar is wonderful. The rooms are stylish, cool and comfy. Staff are genuinely helpful and kind. The pool is an oasis. And the hotel is only a 5 minute walk to shops, restaurants and cafes. The weekly community dinner is a very nice way to meet fellow guests!
