Fantastic

We visited the restaurant at The Riverside twice during our week stay in Boscastle. We were so impressed with our first visit that we oozed again for our last night of our holiday. Staff, restaurant and food were amazing for both visits. Highly recommend the brie and mango filo parcels and the toffee pudding. We will visit again

The Wellington Hotel

Overlooking the harbour in the Cornish fishing village of Boscastle and surrounded by the beautiful North Cornwall coastline, the Wellington Hotel has benn providing a warm welcome to its guests for many years. A Listed 16th Century Coaching Inn, the Hotel has 14 bedrooms, a traditional pub serving Cornish real ales and home cooked food and a fantastic 2 AA rosette restaurant. There are 10 acres of private woodland walks and the Hotel is in an ideal location for walking the Coastal Path and for discovering Cornwall.

A thoroughly enjoyable and very comfortable return visit.

I'd checked out this place on my own back in February, and was impressed enough to come back with my partner for some coast path walking. Our four night stay was perfect in every way; huge breakfasts, very filling and beautifully cooked dinners, well kept local ales. You can eat in the bar, up in the gallery, or in the tower room. My only minor criticism is there seems to be a shortage of staff at table in the evenings. The breakfast room is light and airy; no staff problems in the mornings. A management problem, I suspect. Our room (3) was very comfortable with a double bed and a good hot shower; the hotel is in a very quiet location by a narrow lane to the harbour, away from busy traffic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be back; next time, I must be more organised and call early for a turret room.

YHA Boscastle

A lovely spot in a steep-sided valley on the rugged north Cornwall coast, this National Trust-owned rural retreat is on the harbour edge. Here, on your Cornish coast break, you can sit and watch this pretty, bustling fishing village come to life during the day and return to a sleepier pace in the evenings. For a more energetic activity break, you’ll also find excellent surfing and sailing plus miles of coastal footpaths to explore - great for walking holidays. It's self-catering only here, but you can get to know the locals in the nearby pubs while sampling some tasty Cornish food and local ales.

Fantastic location

Wonderful location, near the harbour and with suberb access to coastal paths. Our family room was clean and spacious with a view to the harbour. Boscastle itself was beautiful and interesting. From our accommodation we had a choice of ice-cream shops, cafes and other eateries. My children loved the nearby rock / gem shop and we were intrigued by the witchcraft museum, which was also only a broomstick hop away from the hostel.

It just get even better!

I had another relaxing weekend at the Old Rectory. Having stayed several times before and always really liked it, the B&B Stables has been converted with a lot of care and thought with local wood and stone fittings, and deep sea colours, in the kitchen and everything you could need for a longer stay. It is a cosy place to sit by the wood stove with a cup of tea, or local takeaway, after a day on the beach! It is lovely to have a very comfortable hideaway, set in such wonderful gardens, and with a friendly welcome - and fab breakfast! My dog and I are looking forward to the next time......

Exceptional B&B with the loveliest hosts

Reviewed By Nursie11

Just stayed here for 5 nights in the Jamaica room. B&B is in a nice, quiet location, a beautiful homely farmhouse. Cynthia & Brian really were the loveliest of hosts. Could not do enough for us and made us feel so welcome, like part of the family. Room was beautiful, tasteful decor and so comfortable with a beautiful bathroom with hot, powerful shower and twin sinks. Sam the cleaning lady was also lovely. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh, local produce. My hubby fell in love with Cynthia’s fruit salad. We really were sad to leave. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Outstanding!

Boscastle House is a complete gem, with very high standards and amazing attention to detail. Our room (Trelawny) was large, with a lovely view and extremely comfortable Breakfast was smashing, huge choice, beautifully presented and served in a very pleasant room. We walked down to the village for dinner (Wellington Hotel - average, and The Riverside Restaurant - very good). We rang for a local cab back as the hill was way too steep to stagger up. Only £5 and worth every penny. The owners of Boscastle House are to be congratulated for their excellent establishment. Outstanding!

Lovely Cornish break

Reviewed By J9329ZLjoycew

We decided to take a last minute short break to Cornwall, choosing Tregatherall Lodge for it's location and facilities. Vanessa the host greeted us warmly on arrival; we had booked the family room which did not disappoint. This was situated on the ground floor and was a large bedroom with comfy bed, sofa, flat screen tv and ample cupboard space. There was a connecting door that led to a further room with walk in wardrobes tea/coffee making facilities and a dressing table with hairdryer and mirror. This in turn led onto the ensuite bathroom which included jacuzzi bath and power shower. The tea/coffe facilities were well stocked and included 2 bottles of water. There were also sweets. The shared lounge which was on the first floor had large comfy settees, a selection of games and magazines and a further larger tv. The dining area was well set out and the full english breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty. There was also freshly made toast, cereal, fruit, yoghurts and fruit juice available too. I highly recommend this B&B. Vanessa was a fab host, suggesting places to visit and ideas for evening meal. She was readily available, chatty but not intrusive and Tregatherall Lodge is well situated for all the attractions in the area. Plus there is ample parking. Do visit Tintagel, Boscastle and for lovely coves Crackington Haven and Trebarwith Strand which is a surfers paradise with fantastic dramatic scenery....there is a pub there called Port William where you can sit and watch the waves crashing onto the rocks...fabulous!
