Still damaged by the civil wars and unrest that have marked its history, Bissau is a city in the midst of reconstruction. The city is home to many monuments and museums, including the Guinea-Bissau National Arts Institute, the newly rebuilt Bissau French Cultural Centre, the Pidjiguiti Memorial, honoring those killed in the 1959 Bissau Dockers' Strike, and the Centro Artistico Juvenil, where local youth artisans create works of art on site. Local beaches provide a relaxing respite from the heat.

Ive eaten here over 50 times in the last few years and can continue to say that you're sure to get a tasty meal here. The friendly staff will seem to be preoccupied, but in true Bissau Guinean friendly fashion, they are waiting for you to ask them for something. Ever helpful.
The Portions are excellent and filling.
Food may take time if is crowded, which on most afternoons is.
It is Airconditioned and pleasant.
The Toilet is a little cramped and narrow, but is clean.

This restaurant has a good service for Guinea Bissau standards. However the place is hidden on the main avenue. The place is very calm, avoiding many harassments of begging and sellers. The food is good, but be prepared for long wait. I had a huge lasagna and it worth waiting.

To give the better like always,we inform our dears clients that we are building a new Papaloca in the same place.
I tried the hamburger with friend of mine, it was really smelly and not tasty at all. The Arabic guy (it seems he is the owner) was very nice with us. RegardsThanks you for your visit, me and all the staff of papaloca ( the Arabic one too) are sorry that you don't enjoyed your food, and we will try to do our best, what we doing during 18 years of experience,to serve you better. Many greetings.

Good Italian food! Place is lovely. Also you can go after diner to take a drink. The only problem is there isn't to much diversity of wine list.

Restaurant superb - service spot on, and served quickly and with the right food (a surprise in this region).
There is a pub "Ballafon" which is a trendy inside bar, very western expat / Bissau elite.
Did not try the Hotel
Loads of food options, local and international

Restaurant-Bar in Bissau. Tradicional Portuguese Food, vegetarian and Seafood. Alive Music. Great Spot for friends, musicians, poets, all kind of artists...
The Portuguese owners try their best to serve good food in a good atmosphere. They take advantage of a corner close to the pharmacy, and they manage to create a comfortable spot very succesful with expat and local crowd. The most recommended dish are the francesinhas, a big tasty Sandwich. During season I especially appreciated the oysters. Service needs to improve, but this happens in all the city.
