River Una Restaurant

Average place and average food - really nothing special. Good things: nice location on the Una riverside, cheap prices in comparison to Croatia, the neighbor country which is already price reasonable for west and north part of EU. Bad things: no parking and... I was fooled by the waitress. I was asked to pay about 15-18% more than the final bill sum. I would give tips anyway. But it was not pleasant to see how it was done and foreigners are fooled. Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately in this case) due to my fluent knowledge of Russian, I could understand the local language. The whole impression of my visit here was spoiled...

Mlin Restoran

We found this restaurant coincidently while driving by and decided to stop for dinner. The food was absolutely perfect (just way to much to finish) and a lot more inexpensive compared to restaurants on the Croatian side just a few miles away. The view is amazing as you literally sit on the river. Some of the staff may seem a little brief, but this is due to the language barrier. They are super friendly and helpful when you actually talk to them. We were given advice for things to do in the area without even asking for it. We can highly recommend this place!

Caffe Bar Bondeno

Reviewed By Andy_WFC - Leighton Buzzard, United Kingdom

Located on the main pedestrian street in Bihac (pretty much opposite Konzum), this is a restaurant / bar / cafe / ice cream parlour / disco.
There weren't many restaurants we could find in Bihac and we ended up here both nights. Decent pizza and the kids enjoyed the Bolognese they had. Pretty cheap and the venue was very smart.
They could have done with a couple of other waiters at dinner and service was a bit slow. Later on we called back for a drink and it was even harder to get served.
Was pretty popular into the night and seemed to switch from a restaurant / bar to more of a disco with a live band and music.
Pretty good all round place to eat and watch the world go by.

Restaurant Belvedere

Reviewed By Anna L - London, United Kingdom

Belvedere Restaurant was a welcome find while we were driving through Bihac, Bosnia on a cold, dark winter's evening. We had finished a day hiking in Plitvice National Park, Croatia and decided to "pop over to Bosnia" on the way back to Zagreb. Using the GPS we managed to find the city of Bihac but finding a restaurant was slightly more difficult. We drove around until we saw a row of shops, and the facade of the Hotel Belvedere stood out as a good restaurant possibility. We were able to have a cosy table right near the fireplace. The service was very friendly even though the server did not really speak much English. We enjoyed the food and the portions were huge! One funny language misunderstanding happened about the salads. I ordered a salad and my partner said he would like to order a salad too, so he put up two fingers when he ordered salad. When the salads arrived his was different lettuce than mine and served on a large platter rather than in a salad bowl. Everything was fresh and tasty so we thought nothing of it except maybe they serve men larger portions than women! My partner ordered an Italian-type veal dish and it came with what we assumed to be fried Bosnian dumplings all around it. Delicious but filling! I had a meat dish as well with delicious sauce and a side of chips. We sampled the local Bosnian red wine, which was quite light but totally drinkable. When we received the bill we were able to pay with a visa card, which was lucky since we had forgotten to get any local currency for this spontaneous trip. We queried the charge for 3 salads since we had only ordered two and the restaurant quickly changed it to two. As we were leaving a different server came up to us to tell us that we had actually ordered three salads (my partner putting up 2 fingers had been interpreted as 2 salads for him) but they said we did not have to pay. They just did not want us to think they tried to cheat us. We felt terrible we had not currently to leave a tip because they were really so nice and helpful! We left happy, warm and very well-fed.
One negative is that smoking is still allowed inside at the restaurant and the other two tables both had smokers, but that's more of a cultural thing than a comment against the restaurant.

Panache

Reviewed By LadislavPetarda - Zagreb, Croatia

Coming in late Sunday evening we didnt expect to find many places working in Bihać and as our first choice River Una was short of closing we decided to find somewere else. My wife found this place on facebook and saw it is still working, unfortunatlly she didnt put much notice on a location, becouse there are two places newly opened in the center of the city and an older location on a road to Zagreb 1,3 km outside the center. We went to the second one and as we came there we saw it is almost empty as it was close to its closing time. But when asking an owner if we can order he said there is no problem as they are still working. They are serving typical Bosnian barbecue specials ćevaps, pljeskavica and lamb. Off course for the lamb you have to come earlier. The staff was very friendly even if they were pass their closing time and we were the only people there.
