The Relais La Corte di Bettona lies in the heart of the old town centre. In fact, its entrance faces the main square. The building, which was originally a medieval 'hospitale' for pilgrims and orphans in the 14th century, stretches out within the village in a series of enchanting terraces, solariums, and lookouts that are perfectly equipped and designed for guests seeking a truly exclusive relaxing holiday. The entire facility has been further enhanced by an impressive restoration project that united elegance and sophistication with the original spirit of the place. The warm and welcoming atmosphere immediately envelops guests upon entry. There are spacious common areas for chatting, reading a magazine or enjoying an aperitif or drink to the bright tunes of live music. The staff is courteous, efficient, and always ready to help. Beautiful place but everything else was very, very bad.
Reviewed By RichardinNewYorkCityWe planned to stay here for two nights at this beautiful hotel with a beautiful view in a beautiful part of Umbria, But after only five hours in the room we decided to leave because the air conditioning wasn't working. Very disappointing, given the high price of rooms and the high temperatures outside: 100 degrees. We talked to the front desk about the problem as soon as we arrived but nothing was done about it. When we asked for a fan, we were told we were free to buy one from a local store. We were also told that all the hotel's fans had already been allocated to guests, which suggests that air conditioning was a chronic problem at the hotel. At the same time, the pool was closed because of holiday "festivities," which involved "entertainment," or rather, relentless music that no one appeared to want or benefit from. And that same "entertainment" meant that we could not open the windows in our room Meanwhile, the hotel manager, who overheard our complaints to the front desk, stared blankly at a TV in the lobby rather than resolving the problem. One other note, the restaurant decided to adopt an all-fish fixed price menu tonight. Great, I suppose, if you like seafood in the middle of the Italian countryside or have no allergies to shellfish. All in all, we felt like the hotel staff didn't want us there, that we were a bother.

Although it is not luxurious, it is one of the most enjoyable places I have stayed, The, food, the olive oil the management were just fantastic. I wish I had time to stay longer. It was convenient to take day trips to Perugia, Assisi and Gubbio

The farm "Tenuta del Perugino" is situated in the green heart of Italy, Umbria, precisely in Passaggio Di Bettona, only 15km from Perugia and close to many of the most characteristic art cities of the region, such as Assisi, Spello, Spoleto, Todi and Gubbio. The farm extends to around 40 hectares, 10ha of which are olives and vineyards, with the rest of the land being cultivated as crops. The recently restored farmhouse is tastefully furnished, down to the last detail, throughout. It is enhanced by spectacular views of Perugia through to Spoleto. The view of Assisi from the windows, is made even more spectacular by the changing skyline throughout the day. Our guests have a choice of various types of room, all of which are en-suite. Peace and quiet are the main ingredients that will make for an unforgettable stay here in the unspoilt green countryside of this beautiful Umbrian landscape. Within the surrounding grounds, our infinity salt water pool, with Jacuzzi ,will create a magical atmosphere, during the warm summer evenings. Home produced wine and olive oil is used in our restaurant and can also be bought on site, in our shop. On the farm we have an area dedicated specifically to small farm animals.
Great location near Perugia
Reviewed By AttertrousersThis place was a real find ! Great restaurant, with clean and quiet pool (that our kids made less so). Kids are welcome here with gardens filled with playground equipment as much as Olive bushes. Many of the guests when we visited were Italian, so food menus and staff were very much geared to this. However, English speaking staff were available if needed, we just chose to practice our very basic Italian. Food quality was fantastic for us all. Kids meals were smaller or half portions of adult meals, rather than the normal sausage, pizza, pasta and tomato etc etc. House wine measures by the glass were very generous (hic) and also good quality local producers.

Super classic Umbrian food
Reviewed By LarsB632Our B&B recommended this restaurant situated in an Agriturismo. We choose a starter consisting of diverse cuts and cheese...and other things was also brought to us. Very, very good. We choosed different main courses, eg mixed grill, beef steak with truffles, and pasta dishes. All mains were fine, not outstanding. However, the friendly service and the starter plus the cozy place gives top character. By the way: Menu cars only in Italian, but personnel very helpful.

Great Location, Great Hosts
Reviewed By Sal_RitMy wife, my 15 month daughter and I spend 4 amazing nights at the River Melody. We stayed in the July apartment. This was exactly how we'd imagined, an old "rudere", turned in to a beautiful guest house in the middle of the Umbrian hills and mountains. We could see Assisi from our door. The room and the service were excellent. Grabriella and her husband Gaetano were excellent hosts. Always available and responsive. What makes River Melody a great place is the geography. On one hand you can easily get to Assisi, Perugia, Cortona and many other nice towns, which are all very close, and then enjoy the stunning quiet of the local countryside at night. Mornings were the best part because we would always have breakfast outside in the huge yard. Gabriella is an excellent cook and made delicious cakes and jelly using the products of her garden. My young daughter enjoyed playing in the huge yard with their dog and running after their hens. We particularly enjoyed chatting with Gaetano and learning about the secrets of the areas, the best restaurants and vineyard. I definitely recommend it.

It is beautifully located overlooking fields and little town and the mountains and sunsets are gorgeous. It is it's own small village with everything you could need in a hotel including pool, spa, gym, and perfect patios for sitting and reading or just having a glass of wine. The staff were so knowledgeable and helpful with anything presented to them. And the food.... wow. So delicious and with local cheese, breads, and meat it was fresh and delicious. The rooms were so clean and neat, and the views (no matter where you were) were beautiful scenery! I would go back in a heartbeat, highly recommended.

Reviewed By Andrea CThe setting is hard to beat, with a long range view from Perugia to Assisi. Infrastructure as well is outstanding, with pools, a dedicated artist gardener and gym. The main house apartment is an interior design class act, with warm textures and vibrant colors. Attention to detail, cleaniness and transparency are features we liked and wished we could find everywhere in Italy. Personal touch is also a pkus.. Guido will make you feel at home and offer sound advice on what, where and how to enjoy the heart of Umbria. We spent 4 nights and had a great time there - if you love pets you cannot find a better place.

Residenza il Girasole is a farmhouse in Umbria. It is surrouded by vineyards and it's the best place to relax and visit Umbria. Five independent apartments are surrounded by the big garden with swimming-pool. Each one has got private bathroom, cooking corner, one or two bedrooms, and a reserved space outdoort.
Good agriturismo at a good location
Reviewed By Jeroen RAgriturismo Residenza il Girasole has received good marks on e.g. Booking.com and we fully understand why. We got a warm welcome, the accommodation was spacious and clean, the kitchen small but well equipped, and the garden and swimming pool were enjoyable. The location is also fine, with towns like Bevagna, Perugia, Spello and Assisi within a 30 mins drive. A supermarket and some small shops can be found nearby. There're a few things that could be improved... e.g. WiFi reception (good near reception and swimming pool, could be better in accommodation), the fridge in our apartment was in need of a new door seal and the first aid kit contained items that were well past the best before date. All in all we would recommend this accommodation.

An amazing week end in Umbria
Reviewed By Paolo CThe La Piazzetta is a nice, characteristic B&B in the center of Bettona, a tipical medieval small town in Umbria, located between in Perugia and Assisi. The rooms and the only one apartment are very nice, with simple but usefull furniture. The place is very quite and the relax is completed. A special mention must give to the breakfast, with homemade cake, juice, fesh fruits and tea or milk and coffee. Very kind at last, but not the least the maitress, miss Chiara. What a nice week-end!!
