Chepe Parrilla De Barrio

Our hotel made us a reservation at 7 PM for an indoor table. The restaurant is a 15 minute taxi ride from Centro. On arrival we were pleased we asked for seating inside as it’s air conditioned and there was too much traffic noise on the patio. Smallish restaurant, room for about 30 inside and 20 on the patio. The interior has one wall of exposed brick and a large painting on the other, a bar across the back and full plate glass windows separating the patio. Very good seating arrangement, no TV and quiet background music. When we arrived, we were the first diners, By 8:30 all tables were taken. The menu is small, mostly steaks with a nice choice of salads. We started with margaritas (good) and a tequila. The wine selection is compact with mostly Argentinean offerings in a various price range. For starters we ordered salads. The Barcina, La Boca & La Doce. All were large. The Barcina is a big plate of cherry tomato halves with diced cheese in a balsamic dressing, most enjoyable. The other two choices were also good. For mains the three of us ordered the 250 gram (the smallest) Bife de Lomo done medium. Excellent flavour, cooked perfectly, very tender and more than big enough. With the steaks we ordered the grilled vegetables, also cooked nicely. The service was very friendly and good (limited English) but slowed a bit as the restaurant filled. One complaint was the mains arrived just after we started on the salads. We would have preferred one following the other. Dessert menu arrives after the main course is finished. We passed as the salad and main dishes were very filling. Washrooms clean, credit cards accepted. There is a back half of the restaurant that is used for large gatherings, a birthday celebration was happening the night of our visit.Overall we enjoyed an excellent meal. The steak was the highlight and likely a good reason the restaurant rates so highly. We would eat here again and with a reservation.

We had a most unpleasant meal at this restaurant tonight. The next table was crowded with 6 or 7 very drunk, loud and obnoxious diners. The management, and owner did absolutely nothing despite our repeated complaints and pleas to settle things down. During the meal we considered leaving several times and were fearful of what might happen in the restaurant or parking lot.A very, very unpleasant experience when the owner of a restaurant will not even provide a safe and pleasant environment for his other diners.

Great food, the meat is excellent. The service was absolutely the best. The decoration is original and not very full, that is a plus when travelling with kids.

We really enjoyed our time here on NYE. The service was fantastic and the food was very good. I thought the wine was a bit pricey for what it was, but the food was reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back again!

Coba Steakhouse and Wine Bar

Spectacular View of Colima City lights twinkling below. Romantic. New restaurant with lovely facilities beautiful patios, dramatic rest rooms and easy parking.Unfortunately, the food is not quite average and a little expensive The place bills itself as a steakhouse and wine bar. The steaks are ok by local standards and substandard by US and Canada standards. Service tries hard, but don't really know their job. No wine list, poor selection (just 3) reds. Wine prices were absurd - 750 pesos! Hopefully this place will get better.
