I would have given it a higher rating because my family enjoyed their entrees very much (sushi bowl, very generous serving of mussels, and the salmon). The croquetas and Vietnamese rolls were delicious too. I appreciated the GF options for my daughter as well. However, my octopus entree was so poorly prepared I couldn’t even look at the quinoa dish or the kalamata tapenade after tasting the octopus. The octopus was not placed on the hot grill after being tenderized. It was missing the charred texture so it was slimey in the mouth and very unappealing. I would have sent it back but we had already waited for our meal for so long that I gave up and tried to eat around it. Unfortunately, the party of 8 seated well after we had arrived and ordered our meal was served before us. Not sure why but it was frustrating as it delayed our own meal. I wanted to love this restaurant - the place is beautiful and the ambiance lovely - but that slimey octopus ruined my entire evening. We found our dinner at Helioconda more enjoyable and delicious with a more local flair and without the unnecessary fanciness (and pricey tab) of Citrus. We can get that - and better octopus - at home in New York City.

The price is NOT high at all! I mean, the place looks fancy and clean so we almost didn’t sit down because we thought the serving was gonna be small... wrong!! The servings are big, the service was really casual and cool, yet attentive. But the flavor: 10/10. My gosh the Sailor Bowl - creamy, toasty, nutty, fishy, just perfectly salty and kinda guilt-free cuz the rice was whole grain...If you are nearby, don’t think twice before dropping by and having at least 79 Sailor Bowls on my behalf. And the fish pâte, I give you my word you’re gonna like it.So happy you enjoyed our little restaurant and took the time to wtite those enthousiastic comments!

Seeing the amazing reviews on TripAdvisor, we felt compelled to try this place. It was a mixed experience. The waiting staff was welcoming and nice. We had spinach and ricotta ravioli, those were excellent, just as good as in Italy, to the place’s credit. Unfortunately, the tuna in sesame was not. Ordered red, it was delivered massively overdone and basically impossible to eat. At $20, that hurts! PURA VIDA COSTA RICA...

Ballena Bistro is my favorite restaurant to visit when I am in Costa Rica. The owner, Liz is extremely hospitable and the food is amazing. When we are staying in Manuel Antonio, having lunch here is our favorite outing. The drive from Quepos is beautiful and the atmosphere at this restaurant is calm and pristine. I highly recommend the quinoa, kale dish but all of the food is delicious.Es una alegría que siempre nos visiten, muchas gracias por el review, nos veremos pronto, pura vida.

We were volunteering at the nearby Reserva Playa Tortuga and were having a wander in the local area when we saw the signs for the Bamboo Rooms. As we were walking the 'only 500m to go' signs made us keep going when otherwise we might have given up, not knowing if it was open or not. Quite a lot of ups and downs later and we finally made it, hot and sweaty, to the Bamboo Room where the owner came and chatted to us.We had wonderful cool drinks and ice creams and sat in the bar overlooking the most amazing views over the tops of the trees in the valley below and out to the sea where our volunteering sea turtle patrols took place.A wonderful find and one that we hope other volunteers to the reserve will also make the trek to now that they have the fliers we took back :)

I went due to positive reviews on tripadvisor & wasn’t disappointed. We had pineapple & mint juices which were lovely, chicken & shrimp rice & 2 glasses of wine. The food was fresh & tastes great. At the end of the night, as 2 females we were worried about walking back into town in the dark as they couldn’t get us a taxi. Our waiter was so kind and walked us home when he finished his shift. What a lovely place!

The prices were very reasonable and Cindy worked her butt off, handling all of the restaurant diners' needs both pleasantly and expeditiously!!!Awww thanks so very very much !!! We were drawn to try Ohana by its #1 TripAdvisor rating, across all restaurants in Jaco and I must say the top spot has been rightfully earned. Ohana is located on a side street called “Calle Hiaco” which makes the location perfect for an enjoyable dinner since the restaurant is open (back and side wall only).Service is unparalleled. It has been a while since a restaurant owner has approached our table and educated us on what to eat, why and then tailor our food’s preparation to taste and health needs.Esteban, our waiter, was “owner-style” attentive and made sure our dinner experience was one to remember.Cocktails are a must. Try the mojito with Centenario Rum (as opposed to the traditional Flor the Cana) or the cucumber martini (with Grey Goose).Every appetizer and every roll is phenomenal.Enjoy raw, tempura or flambé. Tips:* On weekend or high-season nights, arrive early or call ahead.* Order in waves, family style. Sharing all appetizers and plates across the table is guaranteed to be fun and tasty!
