We often travel to Tilos and Halki both independently and with Olympic holidays. Depending on flight/ferry times we often have time on Rhodes. We always visit Akis at the Bellissimo restaurant in Ialyssos. A couple of weeks ago on our way home from Halki we called in for a beer and received the usual warm welcome. So welcome did we feel that we decided to stay for a meal. We had Pork Tigania which is a traditional Greek dish not often found on touristic menus. Similar to Bekri Mezi the meat is fried and served in a delicious red wine sauce with herbs and, maybe, a splash of ouzo or tsipouro? It was amongst the best we have ever had and was the perfect end to a wonderful holiday. So if you're in the area and enjoy Greek hospitality and cooking you must visit the Bellissimo.

I really like coming here. The food is very good, and perfect if youre looking for an authentic greek restaurant with greek food. It is a nice restaurant for both families, friends and pairs. The staff is really friendly and will make sure you have a great evening here.

We liked the ambience and food with extremely imaginative starters and main courses but sub standard desserts.Sadly the service was extremely poor. They were not full on our dinner visit and there were five guys serving but spending most of their time chatting at the bar area without watching what the diners were doing leading to very slow service overall.Our waiter had no idea what the wines on the list were (we are wine industry people who like to try things out but nearly all the wines listed were only in Greek) and when our wine came the wine bucket was placed some way from our table making it very difficult to pour ourselves. This is not good enough for what professes to be one of the better restaurants in Rhodes.There are several better offerings in Rhodes and Alter Ego needs to lift its game somewhat not to slip well down the listings.

At last, a Greek restaurant !!!! Been to Greece twice this year and finding a 'proper' Greek restaurant is like finding hens teeth.The food is most excellent, the house wine is delicious and the ambiance is definately Greek. They have a Greek night each week but have not been yet.Not expensive and definitely worth another visit.Ouzo given on arrival and a further apparatif with the bill !!!

My family and I came here for lunch as it was highly rated on TripAdvisor. From booking to finishing our meal the service was excellent. We were not rushed, we had pre informed the restaurant of our dietary requirements and they had GF bread available for my mum and they made a point of mentioning what might be suitable when ordering. We all ordered seafood as our mains, and it was incredible food. 3 of our group had lobster and they came out to show each lobster before being cooked. My dad and I shared a sea bass, which was filleted and deboned in front of us. My sister had a dozen oysters, which whe said was the best lunch shed ever had. It was incredible! We had s table out on the terrace next to the sea. It was perfect! Thank you!

We ate here twice - the BBQ and the sushi. The BBQ was prepared wonderfully and the different dishes with it were really tasty. It was fun cooking your own meat to your own specifications. The sushi boat was just fabulous. We picked the 24 one and were full afterwards. We ate at about 6.30 pm each night but it does fill up quickly so reservations might not be a bad idea if there is a few of you. They also do a mean Hendricks gin!

We came here while on holiday and it has, so far, been our best meal. The restaurant is set in a very pleasant place and the decor is second to none. The waiting staff were very pleasant and extremely attentive without being overbearing. We had dolmades to begin with which were very tasty. My friend had sea bream with a cauliflower purée and mussels. I had their beef stifado. Both meals were excellent. The beef came with fries with rosemary, rice and pitas. The lady front of house was part Scottish so had excellent English which was helpful to my friend who had to explain her limitations with being a coeliac. Our meals with soft drinks came to 42 euros. We will definitely be back.

We stumbled upon this place when visiting the church, it's right next to the clock tower. Beautiful at night. We enjoyed our food so much we revisited before leaving Rhodes, the staff seemed to recognise us This is a family run restaurant and everyone is eager to please, making the service and food excellent. We enjoyed a few dishes here including mousaka, salad's and chicken dishes. All were great portions and great value. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the area, booking is advisable as there's very limited space and the locals eat here alot!
