At long last the drunk landlord has gone, and this has been taken over by a new manager Karl, this is now more a sports bar with at least 5 TV screens around the pub for sporting events. I am impressed by the turn around, and how nice the place is, feel quite safe in here, not like before... Give it a go, you will not be disappointed.....

My family and I went to The Saracens on Friday 25th October, wanted to have a meal but the were fully booked. Asked if we could book for Saturday, and we were told the restaurant was fully booked, informed we couldn't reserve a table in the bar, but if one was available we could eat in there. We arrived at 5.15pm and sat at a empty table, we ordered drinks and we were told we could order food at 6.30 when the kitchen reopened for the evening. At 2 minutes to 6pm we were approached by a waitress who asked if we were eating, before we could reply she told us the table was reserved from 6pm, and we would have to move. With no other seats we had to go outside to finish our drinks, and then go elsewhere to eat.Not impressed Apologies to this reviewer, but it certainly is best to reserve a table here at busier times, as we do get fully booked.

On the way to a wedding reception saw sign for good food on roadside and went in. Staff were so friendly, the food was lovely, two roast beef with all the trimmings, and two ham, egg and chips......fabulous food, so fresh and obviously cooked to order. Would recommend it to everyone!!!

We popped here twice while on a weekend break ..the exterior is unassuming but step inside and it has a plush hotel feel but also a warm friendly vibe ..big leather settee and chairs mixed with quality chairs and tables ..food was very good ...beers were kept well and good selection available...the staff were all so helpful and friendly ..wish this was my local ..also dog friendly and has a small outside walked garden with 2 tables

Sorry during a quick visit to Ross I had to pop into this beautifully decorated Inn and have a quick cider [delicious] quite a small bar with 4 or 5 tables but a larger restaurant. Sadly off to some old friends in Chedworth so a very brief visit. The menu looked pretty good to me, but the food was not sampled.

The menu choice was very limited but what we selected was very good and large portions. The food was well cooked and really enjoyable. There is a good choice of beers and even more of cider. This is a nice old fashioned pub.Thanks for taking the time to write a review Jim. Yes, our menu is limited - usually somewhere between 8 - 12 items. As all our food is homemade, we cook fresh daily, making up our menu from seasonal and where possible, local, produce. Of course we quite often use our cider and perry in our cooking.....

A group of 10 of us meet each year and stay at a self-catering cottage. We met here for lunch while we awaited admission to the cottage.The staff were friendly and efficient and we had an excellent lunch.The pub was lovely and had a log fire. It was decorated with old 40's/50's tin adverts which we all really liked.Would definitely go again and would consider staying in one of their lovely rooms.

Called in for lunch and we have been before and found it ok. Well I did say I our chips were not home made but apparently they only serve home made chips. Well may be they use a chipping machine as they were all the same shape unlike hand cut chips. Also they found it strange we had visited twice in three weeks, well when I find some where I like I could go twice a week so I dont understand that remark. As pub food goes it was nothing special and extremely expensive for what we had. The pudding was just about ok but well over priced. Maybe it's just not for me as so many amazing reviews. As they say not everyone likes the same thing and that's a good thing.Thank you for your review. You are absolutely right, I do find it a little strange that you have visited us on three occasions now, and at best, in your eyes we have achieved "average" status, I really am grateful that you keep giving us another chance but I am afraid I have some bad news for you.All of our chips are hand peeled, hand cut and cooked here, we do not have a chipping machine and I am actually quite pleased that they are a uniform size, they then will cook evenly and be consistent, they will always be done this way here, so can I suggest that to eliminate the possibility that we disappoint you for a fourth time you take your custom somewhere else.Regards,Chris

We enjoyed an excellent meal here recently, during Herefordshire art week. The outstanding aspect was the choice of dishes on the menu. The ones we ate were all interesting, imaginative, well presented and very tasty.
