I go to La Rocca regularly. It has one of the best lunches in Garfagnana area. Especially unusual for Tuscany is a full lunch buffet with antipasti, primi, secondi, and dolce. It comes with wine and water also. The buffet is especially a good choice for vegetarians as it often has 10 or more vegetarian items and it's all you can eat. Try finding a better vegetarian choice in Tuscany, the land of "cibo di Terra" All this for a price of 8.50 euros. The restaurant is Owned and operated by Cristiano and Melania. There is wonderful balcony outdoor seating available as well as inside and menu dining also with an authentic wood oven for great Pizza.

Some previous negative reviews and a rather unpromising approach meant we almost didnât try this simple place for dinner, even though our Airbnb was just next door. However, limited choice in the area and intense hunger with a dash of laziness meant we three friends elected to give it a go one evening. Two other tables were taken so busy it was not. All we wanted was a simple plate of tasty local pasta and a carafe of red wine. In the event the three pasta dishes we chose were all excellent and the wine quite drinkable. Well priced too ... what a shame this place isnât better frequented. Give it a go!

Went here by chance as we had a beer the previous afternoon and realised the menu looked nice. Were not disappointed. Fabulous pasta dishes and main course. Ramona was the perfect hostess.Best meal we had the whole trip!!

Ate here 3 times with a family of 8 including 3 young children and were not disappointed with any of the meals. Staff were friendly and welcoming and views are beautiful especially from the balcony where we sat for our 3rd and final meal in Tuscany. Pizzas were excellent as was the pasta but pride of place goes to the steak with rocket and Parmesan. Huge and beautifully cooked on all 3 occasions. We were able to buy ice cream from the attached shop and eat it at our table which was a nice touch . House wines were good and extremely well priced. Highly recommend a visit.

direi buono anche come pizzeria...ma c'è sicuramente da migliorare nel servizio perchéè un pò lento e poco organizzato al punto che in alcuni casi i piatti arrivano un pò freddipeccato perché il cibo è buono come del resto le Pizze.

The Grind House serves up a nice cold beer with a large selection to choose from and they also make a great cocktail.They set up pop up bars in the square during the festival and have great live bands.They also have a delicious range of tapas in the evening.We sat outside with lovely views of the river.

we took a wrong turn on our way to Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and eventually found ourselves driving through the tiny town of Chiozza. It was raining and started to hail so we ducked into this little restaurant/bar when we pulled into the parking lot to turn around. Inside is quite a spacious restaurant with about 50 tables, more than the number of houses in the immediate area! No one spoke any English, but they did have a menu with English translation. There were 3 of us - we ate bruschetta with mushrooms and with pancetta, sliced tomato with mozzarella and basil, linguine with butter and herbs, and veal steaks. Everything was extremely tasty, obviously fresh and locally produced. Another in a long series of wonderful meals found in out of the way places in Italy.

I know l'Isola for ages and I come here when I want to eat a great homemade and traditional wood oven cooked Pizza. The pasta is fresh cause it's made by the owner every single day. When you taste the pizza you can recognized that the ingredients are of the highest quality. There are many different flavour you can choose and the price is very good in terms of quality/price. Highly Recommended

A bustling, busy, big dining room. A group of 17, we had pre-ordered our choices. Drinks orders were fairly speedy. Food was slower in coming, but not really surprising under the circumstances. Well presented tasty food, reasonable prices, pleasant staff.
