Kythira (/kɪˈθiːrə/, /ˈkɪθɪrə/; Greek: Κύθηρα [ˈciθiɾa], also transliterated as Cythera, Kythera and Kithira) is an island in Greece lying opposite the south-eastern tip of the Peloponnese peninsula. It is traditionally listed as one of the seven main Ionian Islands, although it is distant from the main group. Administratively, it belongs to the Islands regional unit, which is part of the Attica region (although at large distance from Attica itself).

Whenever I want something different to Greek food I come here - it rocks! The pizza is fantastic, there is a huge selection, and the salads are also amazing. Servings are good sized, the atmosphere is great and the service is great also. The prices are good also and the quality of the food makes it well worth a visit if you want a bit of a break from Greek cuisine.

This is a place where the clock stopped on the 1980s, pasta and pizza are made according to the style (huge pizza base, lots of tomato and cheeses running all over!) they made pizza 20-30 years ago. This place has the best view of the castle at night and they do nothing more than taking advantage of that fact and serving really bad food.The worst part of the night was when people (especially tourists) asked to pay by credit card and not only did they not have a POS but they also did not give official receipt (look at the picture) they only gave us the order paper. To make matters worse, the toilet of this restaurant -located in the garden- was the dirtiest one I have ever seen, I did not risk entering just from the smell and view of it.Terrible place, stay away!

3. La Strada

La Strada is situated on the main road going from the centre of the island towards the north. Although it is on the main road, the road is almost always empty and there is a great place to sit out back with amazing views. The service is fantastic, the sandwiches are huge and yummy, as is the club sandwich. The atmosphere is nice and you will always find locals there having a banter, so it is worth just this alone! Highly recommended for lunch or a quick drink on your way to the beach.
