This is a simple place, but don't be fooled. Make a reservation or you won't get a table. The pizza is super, especially if you love true Italian pizza, with fabulous thin crust, great sauce, and not soggy in the middle. The owner is a savvy young woman with some English, and the experience is not easily forgettable. As I'm preparing to go there in awhile, I am getting so hungry while I'm writing this.Even though this is Italy, finding the right pizza is not always as simple as you might think. This is close enough to Lucca and very close to Borgo or Bagni di Lucca or the towns in between. The house wine is wonderful, the music not too loud but pleasant.Again, this is bare bones, not fancy but the taste--my favorite is Napoli--with anchovies and capers and tomato sauce and mozzarella--and ask for the topping of arugola--rucola in Italian--is superb...And there are so many choices...

Family of three, we ate here three consecutive nights recently as it was close to the centre and our hotel (Park Regina). Food was always freshly made and very good. Pizza's extremely good, our only disappointment was not knowing enough Italian to be ambitious with the menu as there were clearly some lovely dishes to be enjoyed if you knew what they were. Many Italians eating here, which we took to be a good sign. The waitress was always the same, and she was lovely and very patient and helpful with our efforts to order. All dishes seemed reasonably priced to us, and the home made pistachio cheesecake was delicious !!Highly recommend and we would definitely return, hopefully next time with better grasp of the language to better enjoy the menu !

After a last minute closing of our hotel restaurant we found this pizza restaurant that offers so much more. The waitress was so friendly as we stumbled through the Italian menu but she was very helpful and patient. We ordered house wine, an order of prosuitto and papadelli with meat sauce and it was like being at someones home for dinner. This is not a fancy place but the food is well worth it and the prices are very resonable. A close table had pizza that looked so good we wished we were staying another night in the area so we could return. Great blue's music by BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughn made us miss the USA but the food made us glas we were there!

We stumbled across this restaurant driving between Barga and Lucca and what a great find! During our 10 day stay in Italy this was the most memorable pizza experience. Perfectly cooked with incredible flavours at a reasonable price.The antipasti and dolci were enjoyable too.It only just opened so there arenât many reviews... just give it a go!

We ate here once on the last night of our holiday and wished it was our first night.The staff were very accommodating, they had a large party that evening,but managed to squeeze us in.The food was excellent and there was a wide range of meals on offer.We all had fish or meat as we were a little fed up of pasta after constantly eating it for the last ten days.The owner was very attentive and made sure everything was ok with our meal.Desserts were delicious try the Tiramisu !While we were there from 7-10 one evening they turned awayat least five parties as they were too full.

It's the second time I went to this pizza joint and that was no accident. It's tucked away in the mountains and unless you're staying in Benabbio (which we weren't) it always takes some effort to get there. But the restaurant is well worth the drive. don't get me wrong: it's a basic pizza joint, albeit that the pizzas are made in an wood oven. But the main feature of this restaurant is the relaxed atmosphere. This truely a family business: Giovanni makes the thin-crusted pizzas, his sister is waitering (and speaks English!) and their mother is in charge of the pastas. Make sure to try the tiramisu.

The premises of this restaurant have been under new management twice in the last few years. The previous owners had managed to improve greatly on the noisy and rather stark former interior as well as living up to its name "Il Pescatore" (the Fisherman) with delicious fish and seafood dishes. It is now definitely a menu for meat eaters who like fairly generous portions and, happily, the overbearing TV has been banished from the dining area. However, the décor has taken a step backwards and the service, though friendly, was rather slow despite the relative emptiness of the room. The classic local dish of "Zuppa alla frantoiana", usually a treat, proved to be short of flavour and oven roast potatoes were disappointingly pallid and soft. I fear that the restaurant will once again be up for grabs if it does not improve.

This is a simply beautiful place for amazing pizza (and other). Lovely the names and basically combinations without limit. I specifically love the Calzone with burrata on top - go there hungry... The place has excellent Bavarian beer and the prices are more than reasonable, the service implacable. We are regular guests and have never been disappointed.

Visited this place on Wednesday night with my Dad. We walked in just after the lovely couple, (who are the owners I think) had opened and explained we just wanted a pizza. Immediately the traditional brick, woodfire pizza oven was lit and rather than being given menus, the chef just came over and asked us both what we would like as toppings. Thought this was a really nice touch.What was then brought to the table was absolutely superb. Having an Italian father, who now lives back over here, I go to Italy on numerous occasions and can honestly say, this was well within the top 3 I'd ever eaten, if not, the best.Wish I was staying a bit longer so I could try a few of the mains from the menu
