We were welcomed, seated, and served by the owner, who was incredibly warm, friendly, and PASSIONATE about his food! I was so excited to eat, based on his descriptions and recommendations. We enjoyed fabulous appetizers, and delicious pastas. I highly recommend the gnocchi with parmesan and truffle. And then it took two hours to get our entrees. We were avoided and ignored for those two hours. When we were finally able to get a waiter to stop long enough to ask about our food, we were given the insulting "This is not American fast food" lecture, and he reminded us of his "slow food" disclaimer when he seated us. It actually seemed as though they were waiting to serve every customer in the place their pasta course, regardless of all of our varied arrival times, before bringing out our main courses. Once the dishes arrived (actually, not all of them did...) we had a few issues. What was described on the menu as grilled lamb was absolutely boiled/braised/stewed. Our entrees were all ordered as grilled items: steak, loin of lamb, and pork chops. So I have no idea where the "slow food movement" applies. But if what the owner told us is true, I offer a heads up: the loin of lamb is served virtually raw in these parts, as my son's came out barely marked by the grill and completely cold. When we let him know we were disappointed, he offered us a couple of bottles of his father's homemade wine. Would have rather had him take the inedible (and missing) dishes off our nearly $300 bill.

Having visited my birthplace town, I decided to try out all the local restaurants. 'La Stradella' is by far the 'best in town'. Although its not in the greatest location it has a pleasant atmosphere. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Its not the cheapest but above all the food is fantastic and plentiful. My wife and 2 children also enjoyed the food. Our children are difficult to please! The host, Massimo was obliging to our requests. I would highly recommend! If your passing by Lagonegro just take either of the motorway exits and look for the multistorey carpark. Era tempo che volevo andare in questo ristorante e ci sono stato recentemente a pranzo invitato da una coppia di amici. la location è suggestiva in quanto è situato sulla riva del lago Sirino. Gli ambienti sono molto curati e l'accoglienza è stata molto cordiale e professionale. Nell'attesa dei primi piatti ci hanno servito una classica bruschetta con il pomodoro ma molto ben fatta, di solito in altri locali la portano bruciacchiata mentre questa era croccante e tostata al punto giusto. Io e mia moglie abbiamo ordinato come primi paccheri con baccalà e peperoni cruschi di Senise e risotto con podolico. Ottimi entrambi ma tra i due vince a mani basse il gusto dei paccheri. Come secondo polletto alla griglia con patate e brasato alla Nino, entrambi buoni con preferenza del polletto rispetto al brasato. Contorni di peperoni cruschi e broccoli saltati. Il tutto accompagnato da un rosso lucano della cantina del notaio. Che dire... ristorante consigliato. Andateci e vi esorto ad assaggiare i paccheri con baccalà e peperoni cruschi. Ci ritornerò sicuramente

La scelta di fare un ristorante particolare con piatti elaborati e pochi posti è azzeccata. Il locale è accogliente e ben arredato, con piccoli ambienti caratteristici, il menù che cambia spesso ha una scelta ampia e ben studiata. Le materie prime di alta qualità . Il servizio è cortese e preciso nello spiegare tutti i piatti. Un po' di attesa, ma più che giustificata vista la qualità del prodotto. Il costo inaspettatamente nella media, ottimo il rapporto qualità /prezzo. Consigliato

Can you imagine three courses of food,bread and water for less than â¬6?Its available here in the shopping centre at Galdo less than 5 minutes from the motorway, instead of eating at the terrible service stations heading north or south drop in here and do some shopping at the same time.

If you are traveling in this part of Italy you won't find a better restaurant. Very pretty location, excellent staff and the menu is both extremely good and excellent value for money. The manager speaks good English which is a bonus.We traveled extensively in southern Italy and we didn't find a restaurant that could beat this.

Discovered by chance travelling from Cosenza to Rome. (exit Lauria South), the restaurant is pretty, clean and confortable. The fresh home made "pasta" was coocked according to local receipts (Fusilli alla calabrese). Very good main courses based on meat. Pleasent atmosphere and kind service. Excellent prices.

I recently celebrateed my anniversary in Italy at Panaino. I was impressed by the quality menu they had prepared for us and was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful service we received. We were able to try a variety of traditional Italian dishes made with fresh local products and prepared by experienced chefs. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere with accommodations both inside and outside on a patio.
