Bob & Berts stood out from its rivals in Portadown by its very attractive and well presented premises, and staff are very welcoming too. At first glance the menu appears extensive, but unfortunately there are no healthy options here. Furthermore, taste was somewhat below par and disappointing. Staff forgot to deliver some of the food that we had paid for, although this was rectified when we pointed it out. The toilets (communal) were not especially clean on our visit, and although it was fairly late in the day nevertheless staff had clearly not been checking on them. After an excellent initial impression, we left somewhat disappointed (and considerably lighter of pocket)

Visited Sat 17.06.17On arrival with only one car in the car park and the door locked things looked bleak....turns out we were early. They open @ 12.30 on a Sat.But once inside we had a very friendly & warm welcome. Sad to see no other customers while we were there, as it was very good, we will definitely be back. One lady serving and she was very friendly and attentive.Big range of dishes and good value options - like early bird 3 courses for £15.95.Food was all really really good, good portions, good presentation.Dining area was spotless and toilets look like they have recently been done up... and a nice basket of ladies toiletries free for use. Despite being the only table there, the atmosphere was good - good music playing & warm, friendly and cosy interior decor. Broad range of kids toys on offer to which was good. Steak fajitas were especially good.

I'm giving this eating house five stars because of a combination of things. Food, service and ambience. I've never eaten here before and was a little trepidatious because it's on the same grounds as a petrol filling station. I needn't have worried, it's bright, airy, modern, pleasant and comfortable. There was an instantaneous meet and greet and the staff we encountered (all women) were extremely pleasant and attentive. The food itself wasn't five star but it was good; tasty and wholesome and well presented. I think it was worth what we paid. There is an "Early Bird" menu which we were able to take advantage of but the a la carte was reasonable too. We paid £13.95 each for an early bird which included a starter and main course. We also had two half pints of lager for £1.85 each and two latte's at £2.40 each bringing our total up to £36.40 for a satisfying dinner.Would we go back? That's a resounding yes.
