What a wonderful romantic setting with a very caring owner, staff and great food. We arrived with no reservation to be greeted so warmly by the "chief" whose wife is the owner. We sat out on the porch overlooking beautiful gardens, soft lighting and a lovely breeze with no bugs on a very hot day. The staff took incredible care to please and everything we had was excellent at surprisingly low cost. We look forward to another visit.

We were staying at the hotel next door and didnât want to venture out to dinner. While more expensive than we planned it was worth every cent. The service was impeccable, friendly and professional. The staff love what they do and respect the food they prepare and serve. The buffalo steak was excellent (order it rare!) as was the duck. My husband and I enjoyed a late lunch here at Matassa. The service was perfect. They were very helpful with helping us select traditional dishes without making us feel like tourist. All was delicious. Great afternoon.

We had diner with two, was a lovely setting. It had a lot of caracter (big difference with the other hotels around Paestum with no soul). The welcoming was realy warm and friendly. Diner was fantastic. We got several appetizers for free that tasted great with a glass of Prosecco. Our anti pasta was the famous Mozarella and was realy good. The duck and the yellowfish as main course : delicious. To finish we had a great desert and a superb Limoncelle (one of the best I ever drank). All within a realy reasonable price (75 euro for diner with 2). Five stars for sure, thank you for the great evening!
