Saturday lunch and it did not disappoint. The staff were brilliant, very welcoming and knowledgeable. As you would expect the food was top dollar; beautifully prepared and served, it was just an amazing dining experience. My only slight gripe was the cheeseboard; for the price charged i felt the portions could and should have been slightly greater than each serving would only fit on one cracker. However, this was minor. A truly great culinary delight

Found this place by chance one rainy August weekday evening while on holiday with our 12 and 14 year olds in the area. We were lucky to find that they had tables available. Other people there were a large family group celebrating something, and a few couples who also seemed to be regulars, and according to their website the restaurant seems to have been there for around 40 years now. It's very traditional inside, in a late 80s/early 90s way - but I liked this retro feel! As soon as we entered, the staff greeted us warmly. It looks small from the street, but there is plenty of room further back in the restaurant, down a corridor you can't see from the street, and I think upstairs. Spacing between tables was reasonable. The menu options were very good and absolutely delicious. My son had the garlic bread with cheese as a starter, and I tried some and found it was the best we have had anywhere. For vegetarians I can highly recommend the arancini to start, as these were incredibly tasty - however the arancini balls were simply huge, and came with a salad, and so it was like a main course in size!Moving on to the mains, I had the delicious tagliatelle al fungi, and hubby had spaghetti con polpette, both of which were very good and we polished off, though feeling very full from the starters! Our children had pizzas - and these again were huge! I think they were the largest individual pizzas I have ever seen! They have very healthy appetites and no longer need a children's menu in restaurants, but they could not finish these! Apparently smaller ones are available on request, perhaps on a children's menu, and they both said they would request this smaller size if we visited again. Even for an adult the pizza size would have been too large, especially with starters beforehand. We didn't, and indeed couldn't, have desserts - we were far too full! However, despite the overly large portions, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, felt that the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and that it was just a comfortable place to 'be'. We felt valued as customers. We actually considered returning on the next evening, the last night of our stay, but tried another nearby Italian as a change, which we subsequently regretted as it was nowhere near as good! When next in the area this restaurant is definitely somewhere we would wish to return. Thank you.

Nice food can’t complain about that, staff are nice apart from one or two grumpy waitresses and the toilets weren’t very clean or tidy. I only noticed today that the change they gave me after paying was an old £5 note... found out when I went to pay for something today and got refused! Didn’t even think to check at the time as busy with baby. So banana whalf ... please check what money your taking as now I have to go to a bank to get it changed.

Only me and my 2 friends and one other couple on a Thursday evening at 7.30. Waitress was lovely, professional and helpful. Unfortunately the food was not as described in the menu. Lobster covered in a garlic sauce. Couldn’t taste the lobster. We were told the menu would reflect this in the future and despite being given a free desert( which we would not have ordered as we’d had starters) we will not visit again. This is your second review and this response is for the benefit of other diners. Following your initial review I held a staff meeting to discuss your comments. You visited us having been gifted a voucher by one of our staff/friends. You praised your starters and cleaned the plates, you all devoured every bit of your main course and said you enjoyed the service. You commented that you did not like that your lobster had garlic butter (you are correct in saying that it was not in the description of Whole Dorset blue lobster, fries and salad ) therefore we offered a replacement, you declined and ate the lot. You were then given a free dessert which you also devoured. No comments were made regarding any hint of dissatisfaction other than your comment regarding not expecting garlic butter and as I said, you declined a replacement and ate every last scrap. We work really hard because we're so passionate about what we do. On the occasion that we get it wrong (it does happen from time to time) we hold our hands up and do everything we can to put it right. Every member of the team puts their heart and soul into creating the best possible experience. If you wish to discuss further you can reach me on 01202674970. Though one thing we can agree on is that you should not visit us again. Katie

Staying locally, this turned up on TripAdvisor so we tried it out. Warmly welcomed into this Middle Eastern type restaurant with a 1970’s look. Hummus was superb and served with delicious home made bread. Hadn’t had a Moussaka for years, so tried that. Simply superb, rich and flavoursome, best ever! Really nice friendly environment with staff who seemed to are about the food the serve. Thoroughly recommended.

We were taken by family who said before that it was one of their favourite restaurants anywhere! We were not disappointed. Friendly, beautifully decorated, and the food is superb. Lovely atmosphere, busy and frankly better quality and service than it's more famous restaurant competitor round the corner in Sandbanks. Would definitely return next time we are in Poole.
