Banská Štiavnica (Slovak pronunciation: [ˈbanskaː ˈʃciawɲitsa] ( listen); German: Schemnitz; Hungarian: Selmecbánya (Selmec), pronounced [ˈʃɛlmɛd͡zbaːɲɒ]) is a town in central Slovakia, in the middle of an immense caldera created by the collapse of an ancient volcano. For its size, the caldera is known as Štiavnica Mountains. Banská Štiavnica has a population of more than 10,000. It is a completely preserved medieval town. Because of their historical value, the town and its surroundings were proclaimed by the UNESCO to be a World Heritage Site on December 11, 1993.

PrÃjemná obsluha, krásná Å tiavnica, chutné zemiaky s omáÄkou, skvelé mäso. Na burger sme Äakali lebo sa akurát dorábal. Bol naozaj skvelý a chutný. Najedli sme sa. Je to urÄite vyÅ¡Å¡Ã priemer i keÄ oÄi aj chuÅ¥ nám možno lepila malebná Å tiavnica. Výborný efektný a ekologický take-away box.

Situated behind the local football stadium, the place is bit difficult to spot. Especially on a rainy evening.We almost gave up but luckily there were two young boys whom were very kind, willing to lead us, following their car, from the city center all the way to the place.Make sure you use the exact address on your navigation device.Other than that, very nice place, with quite some nice view, and excellent food. Prices are more than reasonable for full diner.

Dined here with spouse during our stay at the Pension.Waiter Matej was very friendly and good at his job, making sure everything was always ok.I had the pork with marjoram sauce and rosemary potatoes and spouse had salmon salad with egg. Both were delicious.Recommend dining here during your visit to Banska Stiavnica.

We had hear breafast. They open at 9am, which was quite late for us even though it was Sunday, but it was worthy. Nice views from the terase and good drinks. I would recommend to incorporate some more dishes for breakfast, but all-in-one it was nice and friendy staff.Thank you for your kind feedback and for visiting Art Cafe, Peter. We are very grateful for comments that help us improve our service. Usually we serve breakfast only during festivals but we try (in the mornings) to have at least panini or a cake for a hungry customer. Hope to see you again! Your Art Cafe.

Wow... I love this places. ON our 2 days trip in Sv.Anton/B.Stiavnica we were here 2 times and the food was amazing. Well, the soup was not always hot, but it was tasty, prices are good and staff was friendly. No problems with ordering tap water - one extra star!I will definitely come back and maybe stay overnight too. Recommendation: Ask for a daily specials!Secret tip: Makovo lekvarove Dedele... oh... It tastes like my grand mum would have prepared it...

Our tour group of 22 ate dinner here in late September. The restaurant was located within a short walking distance of our hotel. We dined upstairs in this modern pub, which is furnished with wooden tables overlooked by polished copper brewing vats.Everyone feasted on chicken noodle soup, Slovak beef goulash and dumplings while quaffing some of Slovakia's finest beer. Desert was superb sweet delicacy: a whipped cream-filled torte.It was a very nice evening here, which my spouse and I--and everyone else in our group--enjoyed immensely!
