Empoli (Italian pronunciation: [ˈempoli]) is a town and comune in Tuscany, Italy, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of Florence, to the south of the Arno in a plain formed by the river. The plain has been usable for agriculture since Roman times. The commune's territory becomes hilly as it departs from the river. Empoli is on the main railway line from Florence to Pisa, and is the point of divergence of a line to Siena. Empoli has an enduring tradition as an agricultural centre. Ogni tanto io ed una mia amica di Empoli ci troviamo per delle cene. Questa volta mi sono spostata io ed há scelto lei il locale. Il locale vicino al centro della città di Empoli è curato in tutti i dettagli, bellissimi arredi e stoviglie eccezionali. Anche il servizio è curato e ben disposto al pubblico. Il menù offre un'ottima scelta di piatti toscani e personalmentr ho preso un fuori menù:tagliata con porcini grigliati e patate al forno (sicuramente da rivedere le proporzioni di proteina e funghi) molto buona, mentre la mia amica dei maltagliati integrali con menta e cernia ed un mix di verdure integrali. Mi sono fatta tentare anche dal cheesecake ma mi è proprio piaciuto poco, sembrava un po' quello della cameo. Nota dolende il conto che sicuramente supera un po' le aspettative ma comunque un posto da consigliare dove ci si può fare bella figura.

It was offered by the local host for quick Italian dinner just after we arrived. The restaurant is modern and the local inhabitants have a meeting and program point going there. The food was good, the service was quite weak, it was not for strangers like us.

Locale adatto ad un pasto veloce, che punta principalmente sulla offerta dell'enoteca ( varia ed interessante anche se incentrata principalmente su etichette conosciute) con pochi piatti ben fatti ed anche curati, Cucina senza fronzoli ma chiara nel gusto . Un locale che andrà conosciuto meglio

Great restaurant with modern Italian food, extremely friendly and attentive service. Also a nice selection of vegetarian options, not just the usual pasta dishes. The exterior doesnât look as inviting, but donât be put off! The food and service are excellent.

Turned up on recommendation of hosts @ the excellent I Melograni b&b nearby and it was fully booked.... and when we returned, having reserved, we understood why. Good choice of food and wine list, food excellently prepared, good service and all in all excellent value for money. They also coped very well with our lack of Italian. Recommend highly if you're looking for great quality and outstanding value.
