My wife our two children and I ate here as we saw the size of the scones.We both had a cream tea and we were not disappointed they where very tasty and very big.They gave us a generous portion of cream and jam very tasty.We found the service nothing but welcoming and friendly.We will be returning.

After reading previous reviews I was really looking forward to having a cream tea, unfortunately both the plain and fruit scones were dry to the point I needed tea to wash it down. My other gripe is that my wife asked for decaffeinated coffee and there was an additional charge which we were not told about when ordering.Dear dan78uk thankyou for your feed back. We are really upset and a little surprised at your comments as we take great pride in the quality of our food and drink. Indeed just this week we have had many many guests partaking of our renowned cream and afternoon teas and all other feed back we have received as been exceptional. With regard to the extra charge you mention, this is clearly shown on the menu and is added simply to reflect the extra costs we incur on the specialist decaf coffee we serve.

6 of us ate breakfast here on a sailing trip stop over. I had previously visited here a couple of years ago and was impressed then.Our breakfasts were extremely tasty - very high quality ingredients - and reasonable prices. Everything here is cooked to order in the small kitchen. So it may take an extra minute or 2 but it is very much worth it.The sausage was the best we had had all trip. The coffee was also excellent and beautifully presented with the foam made into a beautiful heart shape.This is a wonderfully quirky little place. Warm and friendly and welcoming and exceptional value for money.Thanks for a fantastic breakfast.

Visited for breakfast whilst on holiday as it had been recommended to us. We both had eggs benedict, one with bacon and one with smoked salmon. Friendly service and tasty food. It is slightly pricey but for the quality of food, definitely worth it if you fancy treating yourself. Thank you for your great review. Four of us arrived for breakfast today, and although it was extremely busy the service was great! They told us at the time of ordering that there was a slight wait for beverages, but as there were plenty of staff serving the wait wasn't too bad at all! Lovely selection of breakfast choices and ours were all well cooked and presented. Staff are efficient and polite and it's well worth a visit.

Took refuge from the rain for a lunch stop here & would visit again. Pleasant enough staff bur not enough of them so the waiting time was more than would have expected for a mid-week time out of season. Good choice of food, excellent coffee & reasonable priced.

Visited for lunch with my brother. Sat outside overlooking the estuary. As others have commented, the menu is different from standard fayre and really interesting. We both had mushroom, leek and local cheese pie which was beautifully presented and with crispy pastry crust. Young staff who were very professional and friendly. Dear Anne. My family treated me to a very special lunch at the Anchorstone. From arrival to departure, we were all thrilled with our visit. Wonderful food, really difficult to chose as so much choice. Staff so friendly and helpful, best venue we have been to for a while. I would thoroughly recommend a visit here for families or couples. They do get very busy in peak times, so best to book ahead. Enjoy
