First visit and very impressed.Lovely varied menu. My Daughter had the croque monsieur and I had the goats cheese open sandwich. Well presented and really tasty. Good choice of breads. The tea timer was a brilliant idea of the perfect time to let my tea brew. Daughter said her coffee was perfect.Lovely setting. Great atmosphere. Staff friendly and attentive. Thank-you for the wonderful review, we're happy to see you had a lovely time and hope to see you again.

Friendly family run Cafe, Bistro, Pizzeria. We serve cold and hot drinks, freshly prepared food on site, home made cakes, stone baked pizzas in a wood fired pizza oven. Open 7 days a week.
Had lunch here yesterday which we really enjoyed. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food is very good. I had a really great pizza which was very tasty and my partner had a fish finger sandwich, which look enormous! With all that you might expect a 5 star rating but there were two things that took the edge off. Firstly, why the loud music, its irritating when your eating and seems out of place in such a nice setting. The other issue was the flat white, one shot but should be two for a proper flat white! Mentioned this to a member of staff whilst paying the bill and hope they might take this on board. Lovely venue with a decent menu and will go again.Dear Dave, many thanks for your comments. We take everything on board but it is very difficult to please everyone with some smaller details. We recently had someone saying to us they wouldn't mind the music being louder and have never had anyone saying its too loud as we are conscious of how loud music could affect the experience. Depends where you were sitting too? Flat white we absolutely always make with 2 shots. that is the only way, unless the girls are asked to make one with 1 shot in which case it is technically a latte then. But we are more than happy to learn you will come back to us and when there, please just let us know what you like or not and we can make sure it is how you like it. Thanks again and kind regards. TK

When you live close anyway you probably don't think of visiting...but this was a treat, and must be repeated, as the whole experience was really good. The interior is very well-organised, pleasing, relaxing, bright and fresh. Food very good, staff smiling, polite, helpful. Best of all, perhaps, was to have the owner at the front ensuring that people couldn't walk in a get a table, then come back to join a queue! Everywhere should do this - take note National Trust. Definitely be back - loved the quality of the tea, brie and bacon toastie with salad very good too, cake - serious overdose of chocolate!.We are really pleased to hear you enjoyed your time at the shop! We still have many locals who haven't been yet! We always try our best to keep track of the tables and make sure everyone can get a seat as much as possible! We look forward to seeing you again soon.Kind Regards,Gem, Katherine's gift and coffee bar

Booked an afternoon tea as a birthday present for today & it was perfect. Personal service by lovely lady who looked after us. The food was faultless . I picked here because I liked the idea of a sweet & savoury afternoon tea & no sandwiches & it ticked every box . The location is brilliant as we browsed the shop both before & after. Because they only serve the afternoon tea on specific days & times it means you are not rushed .. everything is fresh & you are made to feel very special . I had visited The bottle kiln before for light lunches & would thoroughly recommend it.

A quaint and quirky Restaurant located on a small holding on the Outskirts of Hilton, serving fantastic and freshly cooked breakfast Freshly ground Barista style coffee, homemade cakes and light lunches. Gourmet Burger evenings every friday (Eat in or tak
First impression here was good - lovely welcome and quaint and clean looking cafe. However, having ordered the 'large' English breakfast I shudder to think how tiny the small one would have been. Nothing special and tea or coffee not included in the price. We ordered the 'breakfast tea' at £1.80 each. We were provided with small tea cups and a pot which on investigation proved to contain a solitary tea bag. The pot provided one small cup of tea each - had we known about the lack of tea we would have ordered a drink seperately in the hope of actually having a bag each. Anyhow, the breakfast was ok, just nothing special. I am loathe to leave negative reviews for small, locally owned places, but I cannot recommend The Shed unless you really aren't at all hungry and thirsty. The pluses are it is clean and friendly; the welcome and service was good - and we only tried the breakfast so the other food might be great.

Coffees and toast arrived quickly and was niceStill feel that breakfasts and toast is expensive compared with other places like No 58 on Long Eaton. Also amount of food on brekky is not as good also.Having said this it is very popular

Myself and partner visited today for a late brunch but found ourselves disappointed. It all looks very nice but it doesnât deliver on flavour. Décor and overall ambience really laid back and chill. We both went for the avocado toast and unfortunately found it cold and flavourless, struggling to finish it just because it had cost so much. Coffee was good and service friendly hence not a lower score. I wouldnât return. Hi,Thanks for taking the time to review us and offer us this feedback, however I'm really sorry that you felt let down by the avocado toast you tried on your recent visit to us. Many of the ingredients that we use in our products are sourced from other local, independent businesses, which allows us to trace everything back to its source and keep an eye on the quality that we're serving at all times. Although we do our best to keep our prices as accessible as possible, they are carefully calculated to reflect this quality whilst allowing ourselves some room to continue developing as a business.Consistency is key for us, and as avocado toast is one of the most popular dishes on our menu it's really disappointing for us to hear that you didn't get to experience it as we'd hope! I'll pass your comments on to our kitchen team for them to look in to and make sure that everything we serve is consistently delicious! It's really great to hear that our wonderful team looked after you so well and your coffee was top-notch! I hope that this will encourage you to come back to visit us again soon and try some of the other yummy things we have on offer. :)Best wishes,Hattie
