Based centrally in the museum grounds it’s a good self serve cafe/ restaurant that serves homemade cakes scones etc, you can get hot food, tea coffee and prices are reasonable, in summer there is also an area to sit outside, it’s larger than you can see and has toilets on lower area, when we visited they had a lovely poster display of different scenes and subjects.Good place to stop and recharge your batteries on your journey around Beaulieu.Thank you EAN44 for your post, great to learn you enjoyed your time with us and we look forward in welcoming you back to us again in the near future. We called in at Bongusta for breakfast prior to a long Sunday walk through the New Forest. First of all, we were pleasantly surprised to find anywhere at all open at 9.00am in Brockenhurst. The café is located centrally, just a short walk from the railway station. This is an unpretentious café selling typical English fare, so if you are looking for something smart and trendy forget it. But if you want a good English breakfast, though, this is the place for you. The atmosphere is nothing special but it is a friendly place. The service was polite and unfussy. The menu includes various English breakfasts – Basic, Small and Full-English breakfast. The prices were surprisingly low. We both had ‘small’, and it was almost more than we could eat. It included a rasher of bacon, fried egg, mushroom, hash potato, baked beans, vine tomatoes and toast. It was obvious that everything had been cooked fresh. We were pleased we hadn’t gone for the ‘Full-breakfast’.The portions are generous. It set us up perfectly for a hard days walking. The only downside was the latte coffee. It tasted ‘odd’, as if it included a shot of hazelnut juice or something. Next time we shall have tea. Bongusta is cheap, but only in the sense of ‘economical’. We shall definitely return.

The owner of this cafe, is the wrong man in the wrong job, he was augmentative, he physical pushed me, and then refused to serve me all because I suggested that 40p extra for soya milk with my tea, was rather rich.......definitely a cafe to avoid !!! Hundreds of regular and thousands of visiting customers would disagree. When, as an employer, it comes to protecting a vulnerable 16 year old female member of staff from a THREATENING, ARGUMENTATIVE, OPINIONATED, BELLIGERENT, UNREASONABLE CURMUDGEON, then I am exactly the right man for the job! You, however, seem to be a wrong man who can't afford a 40p supplement to provide for his lifestyle choices and then wants to cause an argument because of that. You are the only customer in 10 years that we have been forced to phone the police in order to to get you to leave the premises, in fact something you only did when I pointed out the CCTV camers. As for any other allegations, which I categorically refute, put them in writing and I shall refer them to my solicitor.

My wife and myself are currently holidaying in the New Forest staying at the excellent Rhinefield House (Review to follow) and earlier today we did the 6 mile walk to the lovely Village of Brockenhurst and back.Whilst there, we popped into the Buttery Cafe/Tearoom on the High St for a light lunch. We were not disappointed as we both choose the Soup of the Day (Tomato & Pepper) together with a cheese scone - in fact, we were given 2 each!! Both were delicious as was the slice of homemade Apple Pie we took away and had on our return to Rhinefield House!

We came across Steff’s kitchen when searching online for somewhere to get breakfast in Beaulieu before heading to the motor museum. The reviews looked great so we headed there for opening at 9am. You could tell it was a popular destination as the car park was already quite busy. We were seated straight away and both ordered a Beaulieu Breakfast (full English) which arrives promptly despite being quite busy and was delicious. If we hadn’t of been so full we were contemplating returning later that day for lunch as the menu looked so good. As it is based at a garden centre there is also a lovely shop to explore too. We’ll definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Just happened to be passing and stopped to look in the farm shop, then discovered the tea room. What a hidden gem. The food was absolutely amazing, you could really taste the freshness of the products. Extremely generous portions. As well as enjoying our own lunches, everything that passed us looked equally delicious. We had crab and avocado sandwich and the country board. Tasted wonderful. Wish we had room left for cake as they looked amazing. Friendly and efficient service. Extensive menu choice. Outside seating available. Highly recommend.

I can't think where to start. I absolutely loved this place, very relaxing, with stunning (but simple) food a great selection of wine and beer and by far the best coffee i've found in Hampshire. If you want a change from the pastel tearooms that cover the area then this will not dissapoint. We drifted in here every chance that we got.Hi George EThank you so much for the fab feedback. It was great to meet you and "best coffee I've found in Hampshire" is high praise indeed. Thanks so much. All the bestRalph & Maisy
