Our crusty old Dickensian candle-lit dining rooms with mahogany tables and sawdust covered floors is one of the most atmospheric venues in town. All our food is freshly made by ourselves, we use top quality ingredients from some of the best suppliers in t
met a friend for lunch as a birthday treat. Food looked & smelt amazing but lacked on the taste which was disaapointing. Service was exceptional, price for the food was the same as the drinks £25/£25, so not a cheap afternoon. Ambience and furnishing of this place is quirky. Not for those with mobility issues as its down a flight of stairs. Will return again to see if its back to its great standards rather than mediorce .

No trip to the sea side is complete without a customary plate of good old fashioned F&C. Normally you end up having this by the ocean but when we saw the rave reviews for Oldhamâs Fish Restaurant we knew we had to try to out.Itâs about a 8 min drive away from the sea front and there is parking nearby so reasonably convenient. Oldhamâs has a takeaway up front and sit down restaurant behind with waiter service. The restaurant has a higher price tag for the same food but even so it wasnât OTT.Being a nice sunny day we chose to get take away and sit on the few tables outside. They have a lunch time fish n chips special for £4 take away but we were hungry enough to order the Large Cod and large chips combo which was fresh+delicious at £9 for the combo, the staff we friendly and served with a smile. It was easy to see why it was so popular doing brisk business in the middle of the day. Only reason I knocked off a star was the kids fish goujons n chips meal for £2.50 was mostly skin so the kids didnât really go for it. Otherwise would have gladly given 5 stars to this awesome chippy with a Certificate of Excellence 5 years running !

Welcome to The Hamlet Court - a traditional community pub located in the heart of Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff-on-Sea. Located Just a short walk to both the Cliffs Pavilion and the Palace Theatre, our pub is the ideal location for a pre-show meal or post-
I am a local/regular and visit the Hamlet frequently. On the upside, it's a really friendly local pub, with lovely food, and great staff. Sadly, they've changed the Sauvignon Blanc to a type called Bear and Star....nnot only is it completely unpalatable, but its £1.25 a bottle more than the previous one which at least was drinkable. Thankfully, as a regular, I was given the offer to taste the new Sauvignon before purchasing any....3 of us had a sip ... we all thought it was FOUL.So I tried the Pinot Grigio....it was disgusting tooSo I tried the Pinot Grigio Rosada....it was better....but again £17.95 a bottle..as opposed to £15.25 for the previous Sauv.So it's now £2.75 a bottle more for me to enjoy a bottle of wine with friends in my local.I should mention that there is an alternative Sauv...a New Zealand one, but its £22.95!!!! £7.75 more a bottle than the last palatable Sauv the Hamlet used to serve! This is a local pub, its not in town, on the seafront or in Leigh....my advice to management is get to know your customers..... before you lose them. HI ThereThank you for taking the time to offer your feedback, we take all customer comments seriously. It is with that in mind that the previous Sauvignon Blanc - and a few other wines were reviewed and replaced. It was identified from customer feedback across the company sites that the existing product was not satisfactory. We are sorry that you are not happy with the replacement, and will certainly keep that in mind as we continue to review and assess our offer. We have also been able to offer a discounted price on our existing Prosecco and even added a by the glass option as per customer feedback and request.

My wife and I had been invited by two of our grandchildren to celebrate my seventy-something birthday the pub was quite busy and we had to wait a short while for our table once seated we were given menus and when we were ready our orders were taken we all opted for a roast lunch: turkey, half roast chicken, pork and one mixed which was beef, pork, and turkey the meals were served with crispy roast potatoes, mixed veg and a huge Yorkshire pudding plus a side order of cauliflower cheese which was included as part of the meal. We all agreed the meal was excellent and the service was way above average,I will recommend The Bellhouse.

Came in for my Mum's free round of birthday cocktails. I find Revolution a lot more bearable during the day, as I'm not really a crowd person and it gets super busy at night. As it was, we visited in the early afternoon and were able to sit upstairs (where only one other table was seated) and relax whilst we drank our cocktails. I chose the new Rockstar Martini which was really sweet and tasty and complete with edible lips and glitter. I enjoy the cocktails a lot more when they're quiet because the bar staff have time to add the little touches shown on the menu; whereas in the evening they are a lot more rushed and things are missed. I do really enjoy the odd trip to Revolution but, in my opinion, it's really not up to scratch when it's busy. Go during the day for a pleasant experience.HI Jaydenem1995, thank you so much for your feedback and for taking the time to write us a great review! I'm so happy to hear you had a great time with us and we look forward to your next visit. See you soon!
