This was my second visit after 4years. The food was still excellent as was the service. Our dishes included for starters King Prawns and Scallops, and for mains hake and cod. All were cooked to perfection. If you fancy something from the lunch menu just ask, the chef may cook it for you.

A fish & chip restaurant and café at the heart of Lenham Square. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Including daily fish specials and traditional greek dishes. Fresh, humble ingredients combined to create tasty wholesome dishes
Stopped off for an impromptu meal at this lovely fish restaurant. Delicious food from the great menu, beautifully presented and at a realistic price. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Will definitely be a frequent venue for a culinary treat

I pen this review amidst the synthetically exotic decor of Mu Mu Restaurant in central Maidstone. The interior recalls scenes of the demi-monde portrayed by the impressionists. Luxuriant drapery and garish colours create an aesthetic feast for the eye. Voluptuous sculpted figures (caryatids) look down from their perches with beguiling insouciance. They have seen it all and are no longer fazed by the unleashing of human passions. One can imagine the scintillating atmosphere in the twlight hours with the wine flowing and inhibitions thrown to the wind.On the culinary side the service is friendly and efficient. The dishes arrive stylishly presented on the plate. The breakfast and brunch menus seem at odds with an ambience designed to stimulate a sensuous response. I realise too late that a fishcake and small glass of Sauvignon Blanc are unlikely to reawaken my slumbering urges. I am hopeful that the banoffee pie will work wonders. The rest is a matter of personal taste. The restaurant is currently decked out for Hallowe'en, an event of dubious propriety. Black is 'a la mode'. If contrived scarifyring is your thing, Mu Mu is suitably prepared. (Goths and Harry Potter fans take note). The masonry is strewn with faux cobwebs and I espy a giant spider made of pipe cleaners. The meal is accompanied by a soundtrack of eerie cries and echoing chambers reminiscent of my digestive system on a bad day. I shudder momentarily....but this may be due to a draught as I am sitting near the entrance. I would like to point out that this establishment hardly needs these additional fripperies to qualify as an intriguing venue. My dining experience is considerably enhanced by the presence of a charismatic Mediterranean waitress. Her restrained appearance contrasts with the ghoulish creatures who pass through the restaurant at intervals dressed in various shades of black, their faces plastered with grotesque make-up. A parade of demure zombies. Isn't it amazing what commerce demands of its handmaidens?Mu Mu is a tantalizing extravaganza not to be missed, though somewhat wasted on dreary Maidstone. I look forward to my next visit with breathless anticipation.

If you want beautifully cooked real food, with a lovely atmosphere and superb service - look no further. There isn't a restaurant that can come close the Yew Tree Inn for choice, taste and quality. It's the only restaurant for me!Dear Paula,Ah, bless you, thank you for your lovely comments and It is always great to see you, you are becoming a real regular these days and it's always nice having a chat with you. We are pleased you always enjoy our food in what you consider to be, a lovely atmosphere, with superb service from our staff. Our front of house staff work very hard as a team and are completely dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction, they engage well with everybody without being over-bearing or intrusive and they respect the difference between those customers who like to engage, and those who like to have their privacy. Your table are always very sociable and engaging, which our staff are always delighted to participate in, especially, if there's a bit of fun to be had !!!I personally, am very proud of all of our staff equally, from the pot wash to the chefs and front of house, I think they all do a great job and I am delighted their efforts are recognised and appreciated by our customers too !Thank you for your recommendation, it's great to hear we are the only restaurant for you, for choice, taste and quality, I'm sure there are many great restaurants that compare, or are even better still, I can name a couple myself ! but, we rarely get out of here, so I will take your word for that, and I'm really glad we suit your requirements and you enjoy coming here. !!!We look forward to welcoming you back again very soon !Kind regardsTracy (Landlady)

Went to the Poet for our anniversary lunch with our son and daughter-in-law. We couldn't have wished for a better venue. The staff were polite professional and the white glove service was first class. The menu extensive and the lunch most palatable. Could not been better. We also given a brief history of the poet, Siegfried Sassoon, by the manager. For that special lunch this is the place.

I have been to The Orpington on countless occasions for, brunch, lunch, Long Friday Lunch with a cheeky beer, a quick coffee, afternoon tea, a meeting in The Buff (meeting room that holds about 10 around a boardroom table) and its always the same.......The same delicious food great coffee and friendly staff. It has such a cool atmosphere amongst all the vinyl (records if you've not been) you forget you are in Orpington and not Soho. I love to support the local High Street and now we have a restaurant of note that has really raised the bar. I have not been for dinner yet but its on my to do list. HxHi Harriet, thank you so much for taking the time to leave such amazing feedback. This means the world to my team, for them to have this recognition of their hard work. We really appreciate your support and are truly grateful. We look forward to seeing you very soon. All the best, Scott

Beautiful Kentish country pub, privately owned by Richard and Fran. Offering a relaxed traditional pub feel, not formal or a gastro, just a good simple pub. Great local beers from interesting breweries, good wines and decent tasty homemade pub grub, and l
