We had lunch there this week. The quality of the sandwiches was superb - good bread, lots of filling, good quality cheese and freshly hard boiled egg with plenty of mayonnaise. The coffee was great, and the service was efficient, considerate and charming. The owner Francesca definitely has her finger on the pulse, clearly passionate about providing a good experience for her customers.

Stopped off here for lunch today when just passing through Ilminster. We only wanted a light bite so had a baguette each. My husband ordered a cheese one and when it came it was toasted which was a pleasant surprise. I had bacon and Stilton which was one of the nicest baguettes I've ever had. I came here with my family (2 teenage boys). The restaurant is quirky, welcoming and friendly. (Not pretentious). Staff are really nice and friendly. Alex and his wife Patrizia have a real passion for their business and food. The menu is chosen of the day. He discussed the food choices and ingredients at the table. The quality of the food is just fantastic.Heavenly. Wonderful. You are not rushed in anyway shape or form. You can play games between courses. If you are in the area, you have to visit.A pure diamond.

Visited The George for the first time yesterday with friends. We were made very welcome, served very efficiently, the food was so good that not a morsel was left. Four of us chose the two course light lunch, options were good, portions generous and the price very reasonable. All in a very relaxed atmosphere. Came here for lunch with the family, all had paniniâs though very nice, they were a bit pricey for a panini and salad, £8.50 I thought was a bit much. I was also given a really dirty glass which was a bit gross.. no worries, I just drank out of the coke bottle instead. Service was average also.

This restaurant should feature in the Good Food Guide as a 'Little Gem'. This would be a really good stop off en route up or down the A303 if you have time; I note they do breakfasts, lunches and dinner. We were there for dinner and really enjoyed a 3 course meal for 2 of us - some interesting and tasty things to choose on the menu, particularly tasty were the croquettes, asparagus and swordfish. Leave room for cheesecake - delicious!

Stayed for one night to break up the journey from the South East to Cornwall. Will definitely stay here again. Great staff, comfortable room and good evening meal. Suggest booking prior to arrival as the restaurant very popular. Great breakfast too, with proper home made bread.

A long-overdue return visit, so many new dishes to choose from on a superb menu. Our meals were inventive, fresh, and delicious. Our welcome and service were friendly and very good (including great service from someone working their first day there). Cakes also irresistable and delicious. A lovely place to eat.
