Visited here for birthday celebration. Pleasant decor and surroundings. My wife & I ordered the Chateaubriand (420g), however the portion turned out to be on the small side with both of us only getting 2.5 small pieces each, the triple cooked chips were definitely not triple cooked, more like reheated small crispy fries, nothing like crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, we also ordered a half lobster as a side which fortunately was cooked perfectly to lessen the blow of our main ... both our desserts were ok but I thought the 12.5% service charge on the bill was a bit much, overall I wouldnât be rushing back ...

Went for Sunday lunch. Pub is centrally placed with castle across the road.. very attractive decoration , layout, furniture. A place you feel youâd like to visit.Staff were pleasant and welcoming, and no complaints about service. Two of us had typical Sunday lunch..very tasty and well presented. Typical pub grub!So far so good.. now to the 2 veggies in our group.. very limited choice for them, and astounded when we saw the extensive childrenâs menu...NOT ONE VEGGIE MEAL AVAILABLE. Asked if we could have a portion of the adult nut roast for our lad. Waitress said this wasnât possible.. is this place âlivingâ in the 21st century!!!We then had dessert..lovely but grossly overpriced. We shanât visit this place again, unless there is more Choice/consideration for vegetarians.Another minus...long walk downstairs for toilets.Hi Lyn, so glad you enjoyed our service here at The Duchess, apologies for the options that went on our menu regarding non meat options. We are in the process at the moment with head office about offering vegetarian options to children, however I have spoken to my team about offering alternatives in the meantime which we will be rectifying very soon (including options of vegetarian sausages). We are so sorry that this has put you off for another visit and hope with new menu changes you will change your mind. Regarding toilets, unfortunately due to being a listed building we are unable to change toilet circumstances in the near future

We moved out of the area 3 years ago and were staying for the weekend so visited one of our old favourite haunts and were very pleased we did. Both the ribs and wings were still superb as were the drunken squirrel shakes. The service was good. Glad to see The Flaming Cow has maintained it's good standards and is as good as it was years ago.Hi StuartG21Wish I was there when you came over! Sure I would have recognised you after years of working shifts at my pad. So happy to hear that you found it just as good! Yesterday I rode from Islington to the Cinnamon cafe in Windsor. To be fair I didn't cycles 75 miles just to goto the cafe but it was a very welcome stop after the first half of the journey.The owner and staff just seem to understand what people want. You want good cakes, good coffee, good service and if you get a smile then that is a bonus. You get this all at this great cafe. It is sad that other places don't get it but here they do. They have thought through processes to make the whole experince of ordering, paying and receiving as painless as possible. It doesn't sound much but it is like a well oiled machine. In fact, I think that someone had done a six sigma project on them (or should do).In addition they provide racks for bikes, a track pump if you need it and a bottle refill with a smile.Thanks so much

We went last night for dinner. Both had the most amazing steak. The food really was cooked beautifully. Our waitresses were lovely, and the place had a really nice friendly vibe. Toilets (ladies) were also great. Couldnât find a fault anywhere. Would definitely return

We stumbled across this place on a visit to Windsor. Crossing the bridge into Eton itâs one of the first places you come to on the left hand side of the High Street and we were so glad weâd wandered a little further afield for a bit to eat.The three course lunch menu offered excellent value for money and everything was delicious. A goats cheese and apple salad was full of surprises like a sweet cured cucumber and their âfish and chipsâ was fantastic. No claggy batter but a delicious light panko crumb on the fish and some of the biggest (and tastiest) twice cooked chips youâll ever see.Leave the âall you can eatâ buffets and chain restaurants behind and support this great little bistro. Great food, great staff and a great location.

I've been here a few times and love this classic pub in Eton. Great location, there is a nice selection of local ales made by the Windsor & Eton Brewery down the road. The Eton Rifles IPA and Guardsman Best Bitter were both wonderful. My last visit I sat outside in the beer garden and had lunch: a well-made fish sandwich, crispy fried cod on farm style wheat bread with slaw and a small basket of fries. A gin and tonic. Blue skies and a late summer breeze. All is well.

We originally booked a table for 10 inside and due to the warm weather when we visited we asked for a table outside which the owner / manager sorted out for us in 5 mins with no effort at all. We had touring guests with us who really enjoyed their baguettes for lunch and were very impressed by the beers on offer . We had a great lunch with no one having any issues with their food order. Would I go there again .... defo ! Well done and thank you for going the extra mile for us .Glad we were able to cater for you and your touring guests and they were able to not only enjoy the garden but enjoyed the service and the food and drink on offerHope you will bring other touring guests here in the futureMany ThanksAll @ Crown & Cushion

Looking for somewhere for a lunchtime stop on a journey between South Wales and Brighton, I read a review for TKFT - and Iâm so glad I did.
